We are in full swing for our season with Salmon, Halibut, Rockfish, Crabbbing, and with Tuna right around the corner.
Small mouth bass fishing continues to heat up on the main Umpqua with 100 plus fish days. Yesterday myself and two clients spent about 6 hours drift fishing and sitting on anchor hammering these things. We boated close to fifty and the clients took about 20 home for family taco night. We used ultra lite gear which added to the excitement of reeling these fish in.
Epic day for my clients catching small mouth bass on tje river boated atound 50 and they too around 20 home for famlie fish fry.
One for the books today! I had the pleasure of taking Maria and their crew out on the water with SOA Charters for a shared 5-hour charter trip targeting lingcod and rockfish in the beautiful Winchester Bay near Roseburg, OR. The weather was partly cloudy throughout the day, with rain clearing up later on. With our gear rigged and ready, we set out to work the offshore waters, employing a variety of techniques like drift fishing, bottom bouncing, and jigging. While we didn't stick any trophy-sized fish, the action was steady, and we had a great time out on the water. The crew was engaged and eager to learn, making for an enjoyable trip all around. We wrapped up the outing with smiles all around, having experienced the thrill of the hunt and the camaraderie that comes with a day on the water. If you're thinking about joining us for an Oregon coast charter fishing adventure, be sure to check out our Shared 5 Hour Charter Trip targeting lingcod and rockfish. It's a fantastic way to experience the best of the Winchester Bay fishery, whether you're a seasoned angler or new to the sport. I look forward to welcoming you aboard and sharing the magic of the Oregon coast with you soon.

Travis and Tom were awesome. Took extra time with our son on his first ocean fishing adventure and made sure everyone had a great time. Our son thought he had a “fish on” about every 30-45 seconds and Tom and Travis never got tired of letting him know what was and wasn’t a fish on the line. They answered all of his (and my questions since I hadn’t been ocean fishing in over 20 years) and were gracious, funny, and kind. Great trip with great people.

It was my first time out on a boat in the ocean, and we had an incredible experience! We caught crab, plenty of rockfish, and even a cod — I’d do it again in a heartbeat!

Couldn’t say enough good things about Travis/SOA! Made a last minute call to Travis on a Friday afternoon for a river fishing trip that Sunday and he made it happen. Not only was Travis an awesome guy but a great fisherman as well. Was able to catch my first Coho and spent a great day on the river. 10/10!
