Inshore Fishing

Ricky Riley, Captain at SOFLO Sharkcharter

The beaches of Sanibel come alive after dark, and SOFLO Shark Outfitter is ready to guide you into one of the most exciting fishing experiences in Southwest Florida. These waters hold some of the strongest and most fascinating sharks you can catch from the sand, and this land-based adventure brings you right to the heart of it. Blacktip, Bull, Lemon, Tiger, Bonnethead, Reef, Hammerhead, and Nurse Sharks move through the shoreline throughout the year, giving you a real shot at meeting the species you’ve always wanted to see up close.

Your guide, Ricky, has been fishing since he was a kid and discovered his passion for shark fishing back in high school. He enjoys meeting new people, teaching techniques, and helping beginners and experienced anglers build unforgettable memories. One of his standout moments was guiding a first-time angler who landed a 10-foot Bull Shark—an experience that still fires him up today.

All trips are fully land-based and take place on foot, allowing you to fish the same hidden spots only locals know about. Start times are always at 8 PM, when sharks become more active along the sandy edges of Sanibel, Captiva, and nearby stretches. Ricky keeps the setup comfortable with high-end equipment, zero-gravity chairs, and a shaded tent with a bug screen, giving your group a relaxed place to rest between runs. Whether you're a small group or a party of up to 12, everyone gets room to spread out and enjoy the night.

Each trip includes quality rods, reels, bait, tackle, chairs, and all the gear needed to target large sharks safely. You’re welcome to bring food and drinks, and Ricky provides bottled water. A fishing license is required for at least one person in the group, and Ricky will explain the simple process before the trip. A hoodie or light jacket is helpful on cooler nights or when the tide pushes a breeze across the beach.

With 6-hour, 8-hour, and 12-hour trips available year-round, guests can choose the experience that fits their pace. Peak shark season runs March through June, but steady action happens outside those months too. If you want a comfortable, guided, and fully equipped night on the beach with a real chance at a powerful catch, SOFLO Shark Outfitter delivers a trip you’ll talk about long after the tide rolls out.
