Bobby Savino
Established in 1990, Saltwater Safari Company stands as Alaska’s premier charter fishing service and a pioneer of Seward’s long-range fishing grounds. Owned and operated by Captains Bob Candopoulos and Bobby Savino, the company boasts over 75 combined seasons of fishing expertise. Its fleet includes three remarkable vessels: the 53' Legend and Legacy and the 43' Renegade. Through meticulous mapping of the Gulf of Alaska’s ocean floor, they have opened access to some of the region’s most extraordinary fishing grounds.
Seward, Alaska, is a world-renowned sportfishing destination, just two hours from Anchorage. It offers diverse fishing opportunities, from light-tackle angling for King and Silver Salmon to deep-sea battles with Giant Pacific Halibut. The Gulf of Alaska’s rich reefs and deep structures host an incredible variety of fish, with anglers often encountering massive halibut, lingcod, yellow-eye rockfish, and black rockfish.
Born and raised in Central Florida, Capt. Bobby Savino developed a deep passion for fishing, surrounded by some of the world’s best freshwater and saltwater opportunities. In 2008, he joined Saltwater Safari Company, an elite Alaskan charter outfit, starting as a deckhand. Over four seasons on deck, he honed his skills before advancing to captain the vessels Legend and Legacy for five seasons. By 2012, at the age of 22, he earned his Merchant Mariner credentials as Master of Vessels up to 100 gross tons. During the winter off-season, Capt. Bobby returns to Florida to guide tours in the Everglades.
Saltwater Safari Company is supported by an exceptional team, including Captain Noah Wamsteker and Captain Camden Tait from Mobile, Alabama. Since joining in 2017, they have worked under the mentorship of Capt. Bobby and Captain Bob, gaining invaluable knowledge about Seward’s fishery and local waters. Together, they share a passion for fishing and strive to introduce guests to the breathtaking beauty of Resurrection Bay and the Gulf of Alaska.
Bag limits include 2 halibut per person (one under 28"), 3 rockfish per person, up to 6 salmon per person, 1 lingcod per person, and no limit on Pacific cod. Captain Bobby Savino and his crew ensure that every guest’s catch is expertly cleaned, bagged, and prepared, with options for vacuum sealing and shipping available upon request.
Saltwater Safari Company proudly maintains its reputation as a leader in Alaskan fishing charters!
