Captain James Richardella has more than 25 years experience hunting big game fish in waters all over the world, and he's scored in some of the world's most competitive fishing tournaments. He always works hard to put you on fish, and anglers of all skill levels and ages are welcome to join for a memorable day on the water for you and your loved ones! Captain James is a Maplewood firefighter and EMT, and safety is always his priority.
Running out of Belmar, New Jersey, Side Job Sportfishing has access to some of the best fishing in the world. From Striped Bass to bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, and bigeye tuna, to black sea bass, fluke, and blackfish, Captain James has the experience to put you on the top local spots to catch whatever's in season! Whether you want to stay inshore or run miles offshore to the canyons for tuna, Side Job Sportfishing has got you covered.
Captain James fishes a spacious 38’ Topaz sportfish that accommodates up to 6 guests. The boat is kept in mint condition. Powered by twin 450HP Detroit Turbo Diesel Engines, she offers a safe and reliable ride to and from the fishing grounds. The boat also features a private toilet, bathroom, kitchen, airconditioned cabin, microwave and BBQ grill. She is rigged with top-notch electronics as well as life rafts and EPIRP.
All fishing equipment and licenses are included in the price. Just feel free to pack some food and drinks for the day.

Captain and crew are always exceptional to deal with. I’ve been out with these folks 3 times now and every time every one on the boat has had the opportunity to catch our target fish. While that last bit is subjective to some level of luck the crew is still friendly and fun to be around. I would strongly recommend those considering chartering out of NJ to look no further than Side Job Sportfishing .

We had an awesome time. Our Captain, Jay, and his Mate, Cort, could not have been more attentive and helpful. Jay would bring us to a spot, let us fish for a bit, and if we weren’t getting any hits, he would move us to a different spot!
