Scallop season is in full swing and all reports are good with limits being accomplished in an hour or 2. The sizes are good as well. Come enjoy a day scalloping or a fish and scallop full day. Great fun with friends and family.
Non-stop bites all day long! That's how I'd sum up our spring fishing adventure with Mary on Rodman Reservoir. We set out early in the morning with Southern Fried Charters, ready to tackle some prime Largemouth Bass fishing. The weather started off a bit iffy, but it cleared up nicely in the afternoon after some rain. Those changing conditions actually worked in our favor, stirring up the fish and making for some exciting action on the water. Once the stage was set, we got down to business with a mix of inshore flats fishing, trolling, and bottom fishing. Rodman Reservoir is a fantastic spot for Largemouth Bass, and we made the most of it. We worked the flats, keeping an eye out for any signs of activity. When we spotted promising areas, we'd switch to trolling to cover more water efficiently. Bottom fishing rounded out our approach, letting us target those bass hanging out in deeper pockets. The variety of techniques kept things interesting and gave us a good shot at finding where the fish were biting. Throughout the day, we hooked into several nice Largemouth Bass. While I can't give specifics on sizes this time around, I can say we had a solid day of catching. Mary got the hang of the different techniques quickly, and we had a great time working together to bring in those bass. We wrapped up the Half Day Trip (AM) with smiles all around, feeling good about the number of fish we'd brought to the boat. If you're thinking about your next fishing adventure, I'd highly recommend giving Steinhatchee, FL a try. We'll put our local knowledge to work and aim to give you a fishing experience you won't forget in the beautiful waters of Steinhatchee, FL.
Hot bite and happy crew! I took Ralph and their crew out for a 3/4 Day Trip with Southern Fried Charters this spring. We launched from Steinhatchee, FL early in the morning, ready to hit Rodman Reservoir. The weather threw us a curveball with some rain in the morning and afternoon, but we didn't let that dampen our spirits. Partly cloudy skies kept things interesting throughout the day. The water conditions at Rodman were prime for our target species. Southern Fried Charters knows these waters like the back of our hand, and we were eager to put that knowledge to work for Ralph and their crew. Once the stage was set, we got down to business with a mix of inshore flats fishing, trolling, and bottom fishing. These techniques are our bread and butter here in Steinhatchee, and they didn't disappoint. We were after Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, and the fish were definitely cooperating. The highlight of the day was a monster Largemouth that stretched the tape to an impressive 201 inches - a real trophy catch that had us all grinning. We worked the flats, trolled the deeper areas, and hit some prime bottom fishing spots, keeping the action varied and exciting throughout the trip. We wrapped up our 3/4 Day Trip with some great catches and even better memories. While the Smallmouth Bass kept us busy, that 201-inch Largemouth was definitely the star of the show. It's days like this that remind me why Steinhatchee is such a fantastic fishing destination, no matter the weather. If you're thinking about coming out to Steinhatchee for some world-class bass fishing, Southern Fried Charters has got you covered with our 3/4 Day Trip. Our trips are perfect for small groups, just like Ralph and their crew experienced. We'll hit the best spots on Rodman Reservoir and surrounding waters, using inshore flats fishing, trolling, and bottom fishing to maximize your chances of landing that fish of a lifetime. Don't let a little rain scare you off - some of our best days on the water have been when the weather's a bit challenging. Book your trip with Southern Fried Charters, and let's create some fishing memories that'll last a lifetime. The bass are waiting, and we're ready to put you on them!
What a great day on the water, couldn't ask for more action! I had the pleasure of taking Adam out with Southern Fried Charters for a 3/4 Day Fishing Trip in Steinhatchee, Florida this past June. The weather was perfect, with clear conditions throughout the day after a bit of morning rain. With our gear rigged and ready, we started the day fishing the waters around Steinhatchee. I way lost count of the number of fish caught on this pre fathers day trip out of Steinhatchee. The trout chew was strong and we got one of the best flounder I have seen in a while. Little Ms. Maddy learned to cast a spinning rod and we kept some good ones for dinner.
2 new lady anglers. I had the honor to take these young girls out for their first fishing trip ever. Quickly found out Ms. Abby is a natural landing 17 fish and limiting out on trout. She picked up on casting for herself and also caught her first fish using artificial with no help. We even took a few swims to cool off and have fun, those life jackets get hot!
3/4 day in the grass flats
Scalloping is still going strong after Debby. Now is a great time to go as they crowds are thinning out especially during the week with the kids back in school. Saturday the visibility wasn't the best but, the scallops were big and got our limit.
Had a bumpy morning with my old friend Charlie, his son and good friends in Steinhatchee. Had a nice trout and flounder along with a surprise baby cobia that provided a fun fight. Some sharks came to play too. Soooo many small sea bass and a few small trout. Fun morning
A break from scallop season fishing trip. 3 trout over 19 inches, a bag of sea bass, and a good flounder. Great day with fun clients. Steinhatchee Marina at Deadman's BayFlagler Sportfishing ClubSouthern Fried Charters#seewhatsoutthere
