One for the books today! Summer fishing in New Orleans, LA brought us out to Island Marina & Bait for an early morning adventure on the water. The day started off partly cloudy, with a chance of strong storms later on. Tommy joined me for a half-day trip in the Louisiana Marsh, and we set out at first light to make the most of our time. The Rigolets were calling our name as we headed out from Speck Dat Charters, ready to see what the inshore waters had in store for us. Once the stage was set, we got down to business with some tried-and-true techniques. Live bait fishing was the name of the game, and we paired it with a popping cork to really attract some attention. As the morning progressed, we switched things up with some sight fishing, keeping our eyes peeled for any signs of activity. Our efforts paid off when Tommy hooked into a nice redfish. After a good fight, we brought a 15-inch red to the boat - not a giant, but a solid catch that put a smile on our faces. We wrapped up the trip on a high note, with Tommy getting to experience the thrill of landing an inshore Louisiana redfish. I've used Capt Brad multiple times, and he never disappoints. White trout, specks, reds, and a flounder - enough to feed a small army. Highly recommend him and will continue to come back.
