Waded and drift fish 2-4 foot water with down south soft plastics. Caught 20 fish. Kept 2 trout &2 reds. Great trip , great time of year to fish!!
Fish have settled into Winter pattern . Cold fronts arencycling down regularly now and north wind , high pressure and low tides can be challenging for a fewdays after front hits. The good news is once the pressure eases back down and winds start to switch back around the fish pull op and eat. Usual spots p
Winter fishing pattern has begun
Waded morning with topwater and plastics. Lots of undersized trout and a few rat reds. boxed 2 fish then drifted scattered shel and picked up a couple more legal trout . Pretty slow morning with full moon - fish eating at night.
Drift fished around oyster reefs with soft plastics and shrimp under popping cork. Fish were in 3 foot water and tight to the windward side of reefs. Bait pushed up against reefs with strong south wind. Out next front hotting Mon-Tue thos week should continue Fall pattern keeping water temp high 60s - low 70s.
Fished only for flounder Saturday. Found them laying up in shallow water at the mouth of bayous , drains and channels. The front this week should get them going even better. Its time to box Flounder before the 'Flounder Shutdown' Nov 1 - Dec 15.
Less than favorable conditions , full moon , cold front hitting the coast and northeast winds 15-20. Managed a few trout and a bonus big ugly black drum on light tackle ! Now that we are getting to Fall fishing pattern , fishing will be very good between fronts . Everyrhing is turningn on with water temp dropping to the 70's. Book now for Oct-Nov Texas slam fishing!
The weather , wind direction and high barometric pressure have made trout fishing pretty slow . The good news is the temperature drop has kicked off Fall flounder migration and redfish run. Should be on that partern for the month of October and trout will start showing back up in between fronts . Great time of year !!
Above normal tide levels making for good fishing in the flooded marsh for redfish . The front and nottheast winds making conditions not as favorable for trout , but water temp now under 80 will turn fish on really good in usual spots as the winds lay and the cool front conditions settle down. October is going to be good !! Book now and get ready for great fall fishing !
Scouted Galveston West Bay. Stayed in the boat and covered marshy shorelines , scattered shell and oyster reefs . No redfish up in shallow mud - grass . Leeward side of oyster reefs and ledges holding a few trout . Reds reported in deeper water closer to ship channel.
Drifted shell, mudflats and guts all morning. Caught trout , redfish and black drum, with only a few legal fish. Startung to see conditions improve from transitional Sep to Oct Fall fishing. Will be getting better evert week while water temps cool off .
Drifted in 5 foot of water over scattered oyster shell. Water color improving as the southwest flow we had all summer turns more southeast . Bite has been later due to full moon.
wadefishing has been productive
Fishing for speckled trout and redfish continues to be good with redfish getting better every week! Flounder will start doing their thing as weather cools a little. This is a great time of year to book a trip as temps cool off and fish become more active than summer months.
Great Fishing Day! We are still on redfish, book a trip for the redfish run September and October
wade fished marsh drains early with topwaters andbplastics . Mid morning drift fished shell in 4-5 ft water with shrimp under popping cork. lots of undersized and lost a several legal fish.

Had an awesome day with Captain Steve Hammack. Despite the poor weather we managed to pull in five keepers...plus “the one that got away”! Great time shared by all!

We booked the 6 hour fishing trip with Captain Steve. The communication leading up to the trip was great. He reached out to us via text messages shortly after signing up on the website. We spoke the night before going fishing to discuss conditions and our expectations. The morning of the trip we received a text message that he was at the dock waiting our arrival. Everything was as we expected. The weather conditions were great and the boat and fishing tackle were in great condition. Captain Steve knew where all the good fishing spots were in West Galveston Bay. His boat has a 250 HP outboard engine which got us to the fishing spots PDQ. We caught a good number of fish, but the big ones somehow eluded us. It was still a great trip and we’ll definitely call Captain Steve the next time we book a fishing trip to Galveston Bay.
