Fishing in Port O'Connor has been consistent, with solid opportunities for anglers targeting Speckled Trout and Redfish. Early mornings are producing limits of trout on shell reefs and drop-offs, especially when drifting with live shrimp under a popping cork. Soft plastics in natural colors are also getting bites, especially when the wind lays down. Redfish are cruising the shorelines and back lakes, hitting gold spoons, cut mullet, and live finger mullet. Wade anglers are seeing success near grassy shorelines and guts on outgoing tides. Slot-sized reds have been active, and there’s been a few upper-slot fish landed over the past week. Flounder are starting to show more around drains and sandy pockets, and a few solid fish have been picked up on Gulp baits and mud minnows. The weather has been stable, making conditions favorable for both boaters and wade fishermen. Overall, it's a great time to hit the water in Port O’Connor.
Black Drum season is in full swing in Corpus Christi Bay, Texas! This exciting time of year brings a flurry of activity to the area as anglers from all over come to take part in the action. The Black Drum is one of the most sought-after game fish in the bay, and for good reason. These hard-fighting fish can grow up to 70 pounds and put up a fight that will test even the most experienced angler. One reason why Corpus Christi Bay is so special is because it provides some of the best conditions for catching Black Drum. The shallow waters and plentiful grass beds make it an ideal habitat for these fish, which often feed on crustaceans like crabs and shrimp. Anglers typically use live or cut bait to catch Black Drum, with blue crab being a popular choice.

Captain Scott wasn’t joking when he said we’d head home with fish — every one of us did! He knew exactly where to go and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Super attentive and clearly knows the local waters well. I’d absolutely recommend booking with him.

Had an awesome time wade fishing all day and getting into some great action. We covered a mix of bay terrain and hooked plenty of Speckled Trout and Redfish. Captain Scott was laid-back, easy to fish with, and made the whole experience a blast. I’d go again with him in a second!
