Non-stop bites all day long! Summer fishing on Lake Texoma near Madill, OK was in full swing when I took Ken and their crew out for a Morning Live Bait Trip with Troy's Guide Service. We hit the water early, launching from Preston as the sun was coming up. The weather gave us a mix of partly cloudy skies, with the possibility of storms lurking in the distance. But that didn't stop us from having an awesome day on the lake targeting striped bass. Once the stage was set, we got down to business using a variety of techniques to entice those stripers. We started off trolling, which is always a great way to cover water and find active fish. As the day progressed, we switched it up, throwing some crankbaits to mimic the local baitfish. When the bite slowed down, we finessed them with plastic worms, a technique that often triggers strikes from finicky fish. Our persistence paid off as we managed to land some nice striped bass. The highlight of the day was a solid 19-incher that put up a great fight. We wrapped up the trip with smiles all around, proud of our catches and the skills we honed throughout the morning. If you're thinking about coming out to Lake Texoma for some world-class striper fishing, now's the time to book a trip with Troy's Guide Service. It was a beautiful, clear morning on Lake Texoma as the group and I headed out for a Morning Half Day Trip with Troy's Guide Service. April is a prime time for fishing at Lake Texoma, with the Striped bass and Hardhead sea catfish becoming more active in the warming waters. We met up at Madill OK at 6:30 am and got set up, excited to see what the day had in store. As soon as we hit the water, we started working different techniques - deep sea fishing, jigging, trolling, and drift fishing - to cover as much ground as possible. It wasn't long before the rods started bending, and we were hooked up with some nice Striped bass. The fight was on, with the fish putting up a great battle before we carefully brought them into the boat. In between the Striped bass action, we also managed to land a few Hardhead sea catfish, making for a nicely diverse day of fishing. The whole crew was energized and engaged throughout the trip, working together to locate the fish and help each other land them. Even when the bite slowed down for a bit, the camaraderie and positive attitudes kept the mood upbeat. We took the opportunity to take in the scenic surroundings, enjoying the peace and tranquility of being out on the water. When it was time to head back, we had some great memories and fish stories to share. The Morning Half Day Trip with Troy's Guide Service is a fantastic way to experience the best fishing that Lake Texoma has to offer. Whether you're a seasoned angler or new to the sport, our knowledgeable guides will put you on the fish and make sure you have an unforgettable time on the water. Book your trip today and get ready for an amazing day of Lake Texoma fishing!
Heading out for an afternoon of fishing with the crew in Madill, Oklahoma was just what we needed. The weather was clear and ideal, and the team at Troy's Guide Service was ready to put us on some quality fish. March is a great time to target Striped bass and Wiper in these parts, as the warming waters have them feeding aggressively. We started the trip off strong, working deep water with a mix of jigging and trolling techniques. The Striped bass were particularly feisty, putting up some incredible fights as we reeled them in. The Wiper weren't far behind, slamming our baits and testing our skills. It was a full-on deep sea fishing frenzy, with rods bending left and right as we boated fish after fish. As the afternoon wore on, we switched it up and tried some drift fishing, working the banks and structure for more action. The variety kept things exciting, and everyone in the group was having a blast. Between the great fishing and camaraderie on the boat, it was shaping up to be an unforgettable day. If you're looking to experience some of the best fishing Preston, Grayson County has to offer, be sure to book an Afternoon trip with Troy's Guide Service. Striper deadstick bite was slow, so we moved into live bait.Fishing was excellent with a wide variety of fish being caught.34#'s of fillets headed to the freezer !!!
Went "deadsticking" alone.Caught Multiple fish ranging from 18-28".Kept 4 for my own dinner and relased the rest.Deadsticking is a very fun and very unique experiance if you've never tried it before!!!Deadstick bite will be over once the water warms up and we transition back into bait, so get it while you can!!!
The weather was perfect as we set out on the lake today - clear skies and a gentle breeze that made the water calm and inviting. You could feel the excitement building as Will and I launched the boat and headed out to our first spot. These lake waters always have such a peaceful, serene atmosphere, and I knew we were in for a great day of fishing. Will and I started off slow, taking some time to try different lures and see what the fish were biting on. The key was staying patient and focused, working different sections of the lake until we started to get some action. Sure enough, it wasn't long before Will hooked into something good. The fight was on, and you could see the concentration on his face as he reeled it in. When he finally brought it to the boat, we both let out a cheer - a nice solid s! It was a great start to the day, and I knew this was just the beginning. As we continued exploring the lake, the catches just kept coming. There were a few good-sized g that put up an impressive fight, and then we moved on to find some f, o, and e. Every time one of us set the hook, it was an adrenaline rush. The lake was so peaceful and beautiful, but the water was alive with activity, and we were right in the middle of it all. I loved seeing the excitement on Will's face as he mastered each new technique and celebrated another successful catch. By mid-afternoon, we had a nice variety of fish in the livewell, and the smiles on our faces said it all. This was exactly the kind of trip I love to share with my customers - a chance to truly connect with the water and the wildlife, to test your skills, and to create memories that will last. As we headed back to shore, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and appreciation for these special lake waters. If you're looking to experience the thrill of lake fishing for yourself, I'd be honored to take you out. Whether you're a seasoned angler or picking up a rod for the first time, I guarantee you'll leave with a smile on your face and some great stories to share. So what do you say - ready to join me on the lake?
A great morning of striper fishing, using live bait on ledges and creek beds
Spectacular morning of fishing with lots of laughs and memories made, I look forward to the next time!
Today, anglers on Lake Texoma report excellent conditions for catching striped bass and largemouth bass. Early morning and late evening have been productive times, with topwater lures and live bait yielding the best results. Water temperatures are warm, encouraging fish activity in shallow and mid-depth areas. Crappie and catfish are also biting near submerged structures. For the best experience, consider hiring a guide like Troy Ellefson II of Troy's Guide Service, who knows the lake's hotspots and techniques for a successful day on the water.

Where to start……..First and foremost.THANK YOU to all my guys this weekend.Bait was tough thanks to the full moon, but once I found it, my Lee Fisher Sports Bait Buster sure did “bust em”.I’m now using Ohero hooks and line and they’re performing remarkably well. I’m loving the sensitivity in both the mono and fluorocarbon, as you can see they’re helping some young anglers do quite well !The fish are roaming and actively feeding, it’s definitely “ON”!!! Come get on some of this action and let me earn you as a lifetime friend and client.Book me online and plan your next Lake Texoma adventure today.Www.TroysGuideService.com580-916-2514#bubbablade#leefisher#Garmin#livescope#blazerbay#chillerbaittank#abugarcia#Troysguideservice#bobosthumper#striperguide#laketexomafishingguide#laketexoma

My family of 5 hired Troy for a guided fishing trip this morning. We had a fantastic time. While it seemed like the fishing was going to be slow, we ended up going home with a cooler full of filets. My kids (14, 9, & 7 ) really enjoyed their first fishing trip and Troy was very accommodating! We highly recommend and will definitely be back!

June 25 morning trip with Troy. The lake has had some serious water gain flooding out the majority of low level areas. Was concerned fishing with these unknown conditions but Troy had us on fish early and often. When the bite slowed we switch techniques to allow us to continue to catch. Troy goes above and beyond and is an all around good guy. Can't wait to go back out with him.

We booked with Troy for 2 adults, a 12 year old, and a 13 year old. Communication was great before hand so that we exactly where to go. He was great with the kids. Super helpful, knowledgeable and taught the boys what to do, and helped them out as well when they caught fish. My son wanted Troy to put the bait on the hook because he said he caught more when Troy put it on. He was professional and safety aware. We went out on a windy day and he had to adjust some of his plan for safety. He cleaned the fish and bagged them for us to take home. The boys loved the trip and have already asked to go back....with Troy of course! I highly recommend Troy's Guide Service!
