Growing up in the 1980s, Captain Drake was fortunate to have numerous fishing adventures from a camp on Lake Pontchartrain. Spending several days a week on the water, from sunrise to sunset, allowed him to independently learn the behavior patterns of a diverse array of fish species, as well as the effects of tides and wind. Over time, he came to appreciate the incredible fishing opportunities Louisiana offers and realized the joy in sharing these experiences with others.

In 2017, after a 15-year career in customer service, Captain Drake transitioned to guiding full-time, launching Victory Bay Charters. It wasn’t long before he built a strong base of repeat customers. His goal is to provide every client with the fishing trip of a lifetime. With numerous photos of satisfied customers showcasing big catches, Victory Bay Charters is known for its excellent service.

After a successful morning of fishing, Captain Drake cleans and bags the catch according to clients’ preferences, providing all necessary ice to keep the fish fresh for the journey home at no extra charge. Children aged 4 and older are welcome, with life vests available in various sizes. Bottled water is provided on board, while guests are encouraged to bring their own snacks and drinks. Live bait, when required, is available at an additional cost ranging from $10 to $25 per person, similar to other guide services in the area.
