Waymaker Fishing Charter runs aboard a 26’ Hewescraft pilothouse, built for comfort and safety on open water. The boat features downriggers, modern fishing electronics, a restroom on board, an ice box, and plenty of room for up to five passengers. A first mate is also on board to assist throughout the trip, ensuring lines stay tight and guests stay comfortable.
Half-day morning and afternoon fishing trips are available, along with scenic cruises, eco tours, and sunset cruises for guests who want to experience Lake Erie beyond fishing. Peak fishing seasons include spring Lake Trout action from April through May and excellent Walleye fishing from May through October.
All rods, reels, tackle, bait, bottled water, and catch cleaning are included. Guests are responsible for purchasing a valid Pennsylvania fishing license prior to the trip. My son and I went out with them yesterday, and it was an amazing experience! The captain and crew were friendly, professional, and ensured we were comfortable, caught plenty of fish, and stayed safe on the lake in November. Highly recommend them, and the meat and cheese tray was a thoughtful touch. We’re already looking forward to a follow-up spring trip.

A driver flipped us off on Highway 94 because of an anti-Trump sticker. It’s disappointing to see such intolerance for differing opinions, which goes against the spirit of American values.

I went out with Sean on Waymaker Saturday morning to explore some new spots in Closer, and we definitely found them! In about 2 hours, we landed two limits, and we could barely keep three rods in the water most of the time. Sean could use more clients to experience these productive spots—give him a call for an awesome trip!

We got out on the water this morning and had a fantastic time, quickly landing a 5-man limit. I highly recommend booking him for your next walleye charter! The Sean t-shirts will be ready soon.
