Captain Zachary Gaza, the founder of Wolfpack Fishing Charters, brings unparalleled expertise and enthusiasm to every trip. Growing up in Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan, Zach developed his fishing skills targeting salmon, trout, and walleye on Lake Michigan. His love for fishing and the water continued through his studies at the College of Charleston, where he majored in anthropology and archaeology with a focus on marine archaeology.
In 2021, Zach leaped to pursue his dream of becoming a professional fishing guide. Moving to the metro Detroit area, he founded Wolfpack Fishing Charters, a business that embodies his deep respect for the water and his dedication to helping others experience the thrill of fishing Lake St. Clair.
Musky Fishing (June–December)
Known as the “fish of 10,000 casts,” musky are a challenge that Captain Zach embraces with enthusiasm. Using a variety of techniques such as casting, jigging, and trolling, we help anglers target these elusive predators in Lake St. Clair and its connecting waterways. Whether you’re chasing your first musky or a trophy catch, we’re committed to making your dream a reality.
Walleye Fishing (March–May)
Walleye trips highlight the early fishing season, focusing on trolling and jigging techniques. Captain Zach’s in-depth knowledge of the lake’s hotspots ensures that your time on the water is productive and exciting. Perfect for families, groups, or individuals, our walleye trips are an excellent way to experience the joys of fishing in Michigan.
Our 21-foot Ranger boat, powered by dual 350 HP Mercury engines, offers a smooth and comfortable ride. With a guest capacity of up to seven, we ensure plenty of space for everyone to fish and enjoy the journey. The boat’s modern design and equipment provide an exceptional fishing platform, capable of reaching speeds of up to 55 mph to get you quickly to the best fishing locations.

I’ll give them some credit, it’s a nice store with some decent product. Regardless, at the end of the days these are just scalpers who thought having a storefront in a failing mall was a good idea 😂 Prices tend to be at least 10% to 40% above market and during the time I was there nobody purchased anything after hearing the prices (they don’t post prices for majority of items). Worst part is the bald 60 year old guy from the Barnes & Nobles located in Troy was promoting them during the destined rivals release knowing they price gauge 🤦♂️ They truly are just glorified scalpers and if you shop there you are part of the problem.

Cannot recommend joining the Wolfpack enough, Lake St Clair is such a special spot and you can tell immediately Zach is very passionate about it. First time doing a charter and fishing for musky all in one experience and it couldn’t have been better. Seeing someone so passionate about musky and what they do is almost inspiring. Zach’s personality and experience make for an amazing day out on the water! Counting down the days till my next one! Thank you Captain Zach, those sponsors are coming anytime now!

Went out with a couple buddies and Zach and we had a great time. He was very knowledgeable and had a great setup. Had such a great time, would definitely recommend to others. And got my 1st Muskie!!!!!

Incredible experience start to finish. Zach was personable and professional through out both days of our charter and provided an unforgettable memory for my brother and I. He was also very knowledgeable about the species we were tracking (musky) and described tendencies of this fish, tactics and overall general facts about them as to why they are so difficult to catch. He also was great at educating us about Lake St Claire itself which I hadn’t much knowledge on prior to the trip. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to put in the work, long days and overall enjoyment you have at trying to land one of these illusive apex predators. Thanks again Zach, see you for walleye in the spring.
