I have been a guide for seven years now, and I learned that there is a particular way of catching several types of fish species. Each angler has different tips and techniques to grab a fish in just ten minutes quickly. Some use a fishing lure to attract the fish, while others try their luck by tying a hook to the fishing line and waiting for it to bite. Although these techniques worked for some, I discovered effective fishing equipment and technology that leveled up my fishing game for me.
The equipment allows me to navigate easily on the water and see where I can land a big catch. If you want to know more about this, continue reading the articles below.
Fishing alone is an exciting activity. But when you use the right equipment, it doubles the fun. Using equipment will either help you bring home a good catch or go home empty-handed because you use the wrong one.
To help you avoid the latter, here are some of the fishing gear technology I used that took my fishing game to the next level.
This fishing technology is a new device that easily attracts baitfish and several fish species. I use Bobo’s Thumper throughout the year, but I found out it works best during winter. As the fish are all schooled up in deep water, the thump sound produced by Bobo’s Thumper will attract the fish right under the boat, allowing me to land a more excellent catch.
As kids, we were taught to be quiet while fishing. Slamming, loud voices, screeching, and other loud noises will scare the fish away but luckily, the thump sound of this fishing gear is an exception.
The sound of Bobo’s Thumper is a continuous rhythm that attracts several kinds of fish species, making way for me to catch more. It comes with a controller, and I use it to set the speed that I think would be effective in the water I fish in. I can also adjust the sound whether I want it quieter or louder. This device is truly an effective one.
Garmin 126SV is an easy-to-use and easy-to-set-up chart plotter which displays my boat’s position, its speed, where it is heading, and other information that I need while working on the waters. This fishing gear technology supports a new-single array LVS12, which delivers live scanning sonar images of fish swimming below and around my boat so that I can easily see when to move and where to drop my bait.
It has a bright screen with an excellent viewing angle even when directly hit by the sun. Another exciting thing about this is I can customize my screen according to my desire. Even without going deeper into the manual, I can easily set it up based on my fishing routine.
Like the Garmin 126SV, this is a sunlight-readable ten-keyed-assist touchscreen display with everything I need. It is preloaded with integrated Navionics data and Auto Guidance technology that uses my desired depth to quickly calculate my routes and suggest a path I can follow.
Garmin 106SV lets me personalize my fishing maps on-screen. I can keep the data to myself or share it with my co-anglers in the online community.
Lowrance hook enhances my fishing game and boat handling skills, whether I am fishing from a bass boat, canoe, kayak, or pontoon boat. This modern fishing gear technology is compatible with almost all mapping options. I can download freshwater and saltwater maps or create custom maps to share with my co-anglers.
Lowrance Hook has a built-in GPS that can easily find waypoints and cross the frozen surface. It makes my Ice fishing experience easier and more efficient.
Helix 12 fishing technology has a massive display that has more than enough space to display multiple views simultaneously, all while getting a clear target separation. It is a backlit display which is incredibly helpful when it is dark. My pre-dawn and late-night fishing is still a blast. It is also valuable for foggy or rainy conditions because it lets me see clearly despite the weather conditions.
Hummingbird Helix 12's one-foot size display has a lot of perks. If I am fishing on a lake, I can open up my lake map and sonar readings simultaneously without compromising having a lot of information on the screen and being able to read it.
Fishfinder displays need to have a lot of options you can choose from because you should be able to adjust their brightness and contrast to match your surroundings.
This modern fishing gear technology, in real-time, produces highly detailed live-scanning sonar images of anything below and around my boat. I can easily adjust the transducer to fit my desired fishing techniques. I can point forward to see around my ship and point down if I want to see what is below.
Garmin Panoptix stabilizes the sonar view on the chart plotter screen even if the conditions are not good. I can easily install a Garmin Marine connector and integrate it with a compatible chart plotter for better results.
Anglers have a unique way of doing their fishing activities. They set up routines and discover techniques on how they can easily catch a fish. It is up to you what fishing method you think suits you. But if you are thrilled with how effective these fishfinder devices are, try it with me here in Lead Slingers.
