The parish of Bienville is situated in northwest Louisiana in the United States. The first permanent habitation in the parish was Mount Lebanon, which Ruben Drake established in the 1830s after he relocated his family from South Carolina there.

The Driskill Mountain, a hill in north central Bienville Parish, is the highest natural point in Louisiana. More than that, Bienville Parish is best known for its connection to famous outlaws Bonnie and Clyde. A two-year campaign of homicides and felonies across the South and Midwest by a nationally notorious couple ended abruptly in rural Bienville Parish in May 1934.

Bienville Parish is where the small town of Bryceland can be found. Like most other cities and villages in the parish, Bryceland is a quaint community where White and African American residents know each other because of their small population. Bryceland Fishing: A Quaint Experience

Bryceland is an inland village, but while it may be so, it makes up for its lack of water bodies with its proximity to great fishing spots in Louisiana, such as Kepler Lake, Lake Bistineau, and Mill Creek Reservoir.

A reservoir called Kepler Lake is situated in northwest Louisiana, United States. It is not that far from Gibsland, Castor, Jamestown, or Bienville. Kepler is an open lake where boating and fishing are permitted. Black Lake Bayou drains into Black Lake in Natchitoches Parish, where Kepler's spillway empties. Kepler features several landings and boat launches that are utilized for camping. Alligators, bass, bream, perch, gar, and catfish are among the many animals that call Kepler home.

The Lake Bistineau State Park, located on the western bank of Lake Bistineau, provides a gratifying combination of breathtaking scenery and first-rate recreational opportunities. The park is a great place for fishing and is known for its highland mixed hardwood forest and open lakes.

1. Visit the Mansfield State Historic Site

This State Historic Site was given the honorary designation of being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. 2. See the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Site Yourself

A new, more vandal-proof memorial was placed in 2014 that emphasizes the posse over America's favorite criminal lovebird, who was shot numerous times by covert lawmen. This monument, which can be found on Highway 154, 9 miles away from Bryceland, marks the location of Bonnie and Clyde's ambush. The son of one of the police officers who ambushed Bonnie and Clyde in 1934 also runs a Bonnie and Clyde Museum in Gibsland.
