Private 8 Hour Offshore Jensen Beach Fishing
When you're looking for serious offshore action in South Florida, Jensen Beach delivers some of the most consistent fishing you'll find anywhere along the Treasure Coast. This full-day charter puts you right in the heart of the Gulf Stream where the big fish live, giving you eight solid hours to work the waters that local anglers have been hitting for decades. Captain Dennis knows these waters like the back of his hand, and with only four anglers max on board, you'll get the personal attention that makes all the difference between a good day and an epic one.
What to Expect on the Water
Your day starts early, meeting at the dock before sunrise to make the most of prime fishing hours. We'll head out about 15-20 miles offshore where the water turns that deep blue color that gets every angler's heart pumping. The plan is simple but effective - we'll work a combination of techniques depending on what's biting. Some days we're trolling the edge for sailfish and mahi, other times we're dropping baits deep on the wrecks for snapper and cobia. The beauty of an 8-hour trip is having time to adjust and move around until we find where the fish are stacked up. You'll spend your day switching between light tackle action and some serious rod-bending battles, all while soaking up those ocean views that make offshore fishing so addictive.
Techniques and Tackle Setup
We run a full spread of trolling gear when we're hunting pelagics - usually four to six lines with a mix of ballyhoo, bonito strips, and artificial lures. When we find a weed line or temperature break, that's where we'll slow things down and work live bait or jigs. For the deep drop action, we're talking heavy tackle and circle hooks, dropping down 200-300 feet to where the big mutton snapper and grouper hang out. All your gear is provided, from the reels spooled with fresh line to the tackle box stocked with everything we need. If you've got your own favorite rod, feel free to bring it along, but our setup is dialed in for these waters. We keep a good supply of live bait in the well, and I'm always ready to switch up the approach based on what we're seeing out there.
Customer Stories
"Absolutely the best time!!! We booked Dennis due to his affordable price and tons of photos and reviews of other charters he has taken out. It did not disappoint. My Stepson and I were able to catch Tuna, Mahi, even a monster Sail Fish, and have a great time doing it. Dennis' knowledge and expertise in fishing was exactly what we wanted and what we got. Truly a great experience. We will be back!" - Russell
Target Species Breakdown
Atlantic Sailfish are the crown jewel of South Florida offshore fishing, and Jensen Beach sits right in their migration highway. These acrobatic fighters show up in good numbers from December through April, with peak action usually hitting in January and February. What makes them so special isn't just their size - they average 6-8 feet and 40-60 pounds - it's the way they fight. When a sail eats your bait, you're in for a show of jumping, tail-walking, and line-screaming runs that'll have you talking about it for years. We typically find them along the reef line in 80-120 feet of water, and they love a well-presented ballyhoo or goggle-eye.
King Mackerel are the speed demons of these waters, and they're here year-round with the best action from fall through spring. These toothy predators can reach 40-50 pounds in our area, and they'll test your drag system with blistering initial runs. What anglers love about kings is their aggressive nature - they'll smash a trolled bait or live sardine with authority. We find them scattered from the nearshore reefs out to the deep water, often mixed in with the sailfish. The key is using wire leader and being ready for that explosive strike that comes out of nowhere.
Mahi Mahi are probably the most fun fish swimming in terms of pure entertainment value. These colorful fighters love structure, whether it's floating sargassum, debris lines, or our artificial reefs. Peak season runs from April through October, but we see them year-round in smaller numbers. Bulls can push 30-40 pounds, while the smaller females still put up a great scrap on light tackle. What makes mahi special is their willingness to stay around the boat - land one, and there's usually more underneath. They're also fantastic table fare, which makes them a favorite with families looking to take dinner home.
Cobia are the bulldogs of the offshore world, and Jensen Beach offers some of Florida's most consistent cobia action from March through June. These brown sharks, as locals call them, can reach 40-50 pounds and fight like something twice their size. They're curious fish that will often come right up to the boat, giving you a shot with sight-casting or dropping a live bait right in front of them. What makes cobia fishing so exciting is the visual aspect - seeing that big brown shadow cruising just under the surface gets every angler's adrenaline pumping. They love our wrecks and artificial reefs, especially during their spring migration.
Mutton Snapper represent the deep water challenge that serious anglers crave. These beautiful fish live on the deeper reefs and wrecks in 100-200 feet of water, and catching them requires skill, patience, and the right technique. Muttons can reach 15-20 pounds in our waters, and they're notorious for their finicky feeding habits and sharp teeth that'll cut your leader if you're not careful. What makes them worth the effort is their reputation as one of the best eating fish in the ocean. They're most active at dawn and dusk, which is why our early start gives us the best shot at connecting with these deep
