Afternoon Lake Michigan Trout & Salmon Charter
Picture yourself aboard a pristine 32-foot Pursuit motor yacht, cutting through Lake Michigan's legendary waters while Captain Ryan and his crew work their magic to put trophy salmon and trout in your hands. This isn't your typical tourist fishing trip—it's a serious angling adventure designed for folks who want to experience what makes Wisconsin's Lake Michigan fishing world-famous. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just getting your feet wet, this 6-hour afternoon charter gives you the perfect window to chase kings, cohos, and hefty lake trout in some of the most productive waters you'll find anywhere.
What to Expect on the Water
Your afternoon starts at the dock where Captain Ryan and his first mate will get you oriented with the boat and gear. The 32-foot Pursuit isn't just comfortable—it's built for serious fishing with top-shelf downriggers, state-of-the-art sonar, and all the tackle you need already rigged and ready. You'll head out to productive fishing zones where the crew's local knowledge really shines. They know exactly where the thermocline sits, which depths are holding fish, and how to read the water temperature to put you on the bite. The afternoon timing is no accident either—these guys have dialed in when the fish are most active, especially those big chinook salmon that love to feed as the sun starts dropping. With space for up to six anglers, there's plenty of room to spread out without feeling crowded, and the crew keeps everyone's lines managed so you can focus on the fight when fish hit.
Trolling Tactics & Top Gear
This operation runs on precision trolling techniques that have been refined over years of chasing Lake Michigan's finest. The boat's equipped with modern downriggers that let the crew present your baits at exact depths where fish are holding. You'll see them constantly adjusting flashers—those colorful spoons that drive salmon crazy—based on what the fish are telling them. When conditions change, so does the approach. If the bite's slow in deeper water, they'll move shallow. If regular flashers aren't cutting it, out come the glow-in-the-dark setups that chinook can't resist at dusk. The sonar setup lets everyone see what's happening below, and there's nothing quite like watching fish marks appear on screen right before the rods start bouncing. All rods, reels, tackle, and terminal gear are included, but if you've got a lucky lure or favorite setup, feel free to bring it along. The crew knows how to integrate your gear into their proven system.
Customer Stories
"Went out for the afternoon trip on Aug 14th. It was a perfect day. Our captain Ryan had great communication throughout the whole process. He got our group of 5 all loaded up and took us out where he thought we could get some troudt. He was very aware of what water temperature should be and where they would be biting. We did pull in 3 smaller King Salmon. Was very good at keeping a lot of lines in and watching them and making changes as needed. He decided to take us in closer to try and catch some larger ones. Continued to make necessary changes in depths, and after a little while, they started biting. He did a great job telling us exactly what to do to not lose it and "we listened"
We ended up catching 5 very nice King Salmon and 1 nice Coho Salmon. Total 9 for the day. Captain Ryan did not give up and made sure we got some fish. We all had a great time. Thank you for a awesome experience. We couldnt be more pleased. We will definitely be doing this again with Ryan." - Karen
"I've fished in Sheboygan multiple times with both big-name and smaller charters, but Ryan and First Mate Chris went above and beyond anything we've experienced before. They worked incredibly hard to give our group a great time and put fish in the boat, even under less-than-ideal conditions. Despite the challenges, they stayed committed and we ended up filling the boat. These guys are true fishermen. We're already planning to come back from North Dakota—and might even make this an annual trip." - Timothy
"Me and my buddy had an absolute Blast..!!!
The boat was super fast.. and had all the latest downriggers..and tech equipment..and state of the art Sonor.. I was super impress with how well the boat was equipped..Even though you've got all of the latest equipment you have to still have a super knowledgeable Captain..that knows what he is doing.. and let me tell you.. Ryan definitely fits the bill..!!! We did a 4pm to 9pm (cause Ryan said the Kings were biting more around sunset..) During first 3 hours.. we only caught a tiny trout.. so Ryan and his first mate. We're constantly changing out different "flashers" (colorful spoons on the end of the lines.. to attract the fish.) and changing the depths of the down riggers..and setting and re-setting up poles..You could tell that Ryan and his mate.. were NOT going to give up..finally the sun was finally going down..
and we switched out to the "glow in the dark"flashers.. and headed to shallower water..and just like Ryan had hoped.. THE KINGS..WERE THERE…!!! You could see them clearly on the big sonar screen.. after about 10 minutes trolling thru with the glow flashers..BAM!. we got our first hit..
and then another.. BAM! ..and another..BAM..!! we had 3 Kings on at…one time!!! our excitement was through the roof..!!!!
You could tell that Ryan was super excited for us..
that we got the chance to reel in a couple of really nice Kings..
Thanks to Ryan's knowledge, skill, and tenacity
we actually were able to catch.. 6 really nice fish..
literally in the last 30 minutes.. of our trip..
Thanks Ryan.. for wanting us
