Marathon sits right in the heart of the Keys, giving us access to some seriously diverse fishing grounds. We'll start the afternoon by working the flats and channels where Spanish mackerel, bonnethead sharks, and barracuda love to hunt. The beauty of this trip is the flexibility – when the fish are biting, we fish. When you need a break or the kids want to jump in, we'll anchor up in a protected spot where the water's crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Peak action happens spring through fall when they're feeding heavily on baitfish. The meat is excellent - mild, flaky, and perfect for grilling or smoking. Pro tip: when you see birds diving, get your spoons and jigs ready. Spanish macks often feed in massive schools that stretch for miles, and once you find them, it's game on for fast-paced action.
