We fish primarily with conventional tackle rigged for bottom fishing. All rods, reels, tackle, and bait come included, so you don't need to worry about bringing anything except your fishing license and enthusiasm. Most of the day you'll be using standard rockfish rigs with multiple hooks, allowing you to target several fish at once. For lingcod, we switch things up with larger baits and heavier tackle since these predators can push 20+ pounds and fight like bulldogs. The technique is straightforward but effective - drop your rig to the bottom, reel up a few cranks, and stay alert for bites. Rockfish tend to bite quickly and decisively, while lingcod hits can be more subtle before they really load up the rod. We provide fresh bait throughout the day, typically sardines, anchovies, and squid, depending on what's working best.
