Offshore Fishing Trip in Carrabelle FL - 4 Hours
Looking to get offshore and chase some serious fish? Our morning trip out of Carrabelle puts you right where the big ones bite. We're talking about heading out into the Gulf's deep blue waters where mahi-mahi crash baits, red snapper hug the bottom, and cobia cruise the surface looking for an easy meal. Starting at 8 AM, you'll have four solid hours to work the water with experienced captains who know exactly where to find the fish. The early start means cooler temps and active fish – prime time for filling the cooler.
What to Expect on the Water
This isn't your typical inshore trip – we're heading offshore where the water turns that deep blue-green and the bottom drops away beneath you. Carrabelle's location gives us quick access to productive Gulf waters, and our captains Kevin and Zach know every ledge, drop-off, and structure that holds fish. You'll be fishing from a well-equipped boat with plenty of shade when you need a break from the Florida sun. Whether you're new to offshore fishing or you've been chasing pelagics for years, we'll put you on fish and help you land them. The boat handles six anglers comfortably, so there's room to spread out and work different techniques without getting tangled up.
Trolling and Bottom Fishing
We run a mix of techniques depending on what's biting. Trolling is our bread and butter for mahi-mahi and Spanish mackerel – we'll pull a spread of lures and ballyhoo at different depths to cover water and find active schools. When we mark fish on the bottom or hit productive structure, we'll anchor up and drop baits for snapper and grouper. All tackle and bait are provided, from heavy spinning gear for the bigger fish to lighter setups when the bite calls for finesse. Live bait, cut bait, and an arsenal of jigs and lures mean we can adapt to whatever the fish want on any given day. Our captains will handle the boat positioning and fish finding – your job is to hang on when something big grabs your line.

Top Catches This Season
Mahi-mahi are the crown jewel of our offshore trips, and Carrabelle's Gulf waters serve them up consistently from spring through fall. These fish are pure energy – when they hit a trolled bait or lure, they'll light up in electric blues and greens while jumping and tail-walking across the surface. Most of our mahi run 10-25 pounds, perfect eating size with sweet, flaky white meat. They school up around floating debris, weed lines, and temperature breaks, and our captains have the electronics and experience to locate these fish-holding areas. What makes mahi so exciting is their aggressive nature – once you hook one, others in the school often follow it to the boat, giving everyone a shot at multiple fish.
Cobia are the bulldogs of the Gulf, and when one grabs your bait, you know it immediately. These brown sharks (as some folks call them) can push 40-50 pounds and fight with pure power, making long runs and testing your drag system. They're curious fish that often cruise near the surface, sometimes following rays or sharks, and they'll investigate the boat if you're patient. Cobia are excellent table fare with firm, white meat that grills beautifully. Spring and early summer are prime time for cobia in our area, when they're moving through on their annual migration. Landing a big cobia is a real trophy catch that'll have you talking about the fight for years.
Red snapper are the bottom-dwelling favorites that keep anglers coming back to the Gulf. These fish live around structure – wrecks, ledges, and rocky bottom – and they'll hammer a fresh bait dropped to the seafloor. Red snapper fight smart, trying to get back to their holes and cut you off on the structure, so you need to muscle them up quickly. They're absolutely delicious, with sweet, firm meat that's perfect for any preparation. Our area holds good numbers of keeper-sized reds, and with proper technique and fresh bait, you can expect steady action when we find them.
Lane snapper might be smaller than their red cousins, but they make up for size with numbers and taste. These colorful fish school up thick around structure and will bite everything from cut bait to small jigs. They're perfect for keeping kids and new anglers busy, and they're some of the best eating fish in the Gulf. Lane snapper have beautiful yellow stripes and pink hues, and they're active year-round in our waters. When the lane snapper are biting, you can expect fast action with fish coming over the rail regularly.
Spanish mackerel are speed demons that hit trolled lures like freight trains. These fish have razor-sharp teeth and fight with quick runs and jumps, testing both your reflexes and your drag. They're excellent when smoked or grilled, with rich, flavorful meat. Spanish mackerel move through our area in schools, often feeding on the surface where you can see the commotion from a distance. When we find a school of Spanish, it's game on – they'll hit small spoons, jigs, and live bait with aggressive strikes that'll surprise you every time.
