Full Day Naples Offshore Fishing Charter
When you're ready to get serious about fishing the Gulf waters around Naples, this 8-hour charter puts you right where the action is. Captain Robbie and his team know these waters like the back of their hands, and they'll work their tails off to put you on some quality fish. We're talking about a full day on the water - enough time to hit multiple spots, try different techniques, and really dial in what's biting. The boat's set up for comfort and serious fishing, with room for up to 4 anglers who want to experience what makes Naples one of Florida's top fishing destinations.
What to Expect on the Water
This isn't a rushed half-day trip where you're just getting started when it's time to head back. Eight hours gives you the chance to really work the water and adapt to conditions as the day unfolds. We'll start early to beat the crowds and target the morning bite, then adjust our game plan based on what's happening out there. The Gulf off Naples has everything from shallow grass flats to deeper structure, and with a full day, we can cover the spots that are producing. Captain Robbie's been guiding these waters for years and has that local knowledge that makes the difference between a good day and a great day. You'll see why regulars keep booking with him - he's got the patience to work spots thoroughly and the instincts to know when it's time to move.
Techniques & Tackle Setup
We'll be running a mix of techniques depending on what species we're targeting and where we find them. Live bait fishing is huge out here - we'll have plenty of shrimp, pinfish, and other baits that Gulf species can't resist. When we're working the deeper water for kings and bigger fish, we'll set up trolling spreads with both live bait and artificials. For the inshore species like tarpon and snook, sight fishing and casting to structure becomes the name of the game. All tackle is provided, but if you've got a favorite rod setup, feel free to bring it along. The boat's rigged with quality gear that can handle everything from finicky pompano to bruiser tarpon, and Captain Robbie will make sure you're matched up with the right equipment for whatever we're chasing.
Customer Stories
"This is my third charter trip with captain Robbie Christian Sommer. I have gone with other guides here in Naples, it was never like fishing with Robbie. The customer care that he has and also the excitement to put you on fish is extraordinary. Growing up here in Naples as a local I have seen many people charter fish no one is like this. I use this captain on a regular basis to also take my business clients out for a yearly trip. When you go fishing with Captain Robbie he makes sure not only to put you on fish, but to put you on the biggest fish and rarest fish in Naples . I have referred him to many friends and family and every single time they told me not only they had a good trip but a great unforgettable trip. If you are serious about fishing this is the captain for you. Thanks captain can't wait for our next trip!!!!" - Joyce
"Had an awesome time with Robbie. Was told that the fishing might not be so great because the weather, but he was still able to put us on some really nice fish. We hooked up with a few good sized snook and caught some other really cool species as well. Will definitely be back on a nicer day to do some deep water fishing with the captain!" - Jane
Species You'll Want to Hook
Florida Pompano are absolute gold when it comes to table fare, and Naples waters hold some beauties. These silver bullets love sandy bottoms and grass edges, typically running 2-4 pounds with the occasional bigger fish that'll make you smile. Spring through fall gives you the best shot at them, and they're suckers for fresh shrimp bumped along the bottom. When a pompano grabs your bait, you'll feel that classic head-shaking fight that makes them such a favorite among local anglers.
Tarpon season brings the real excitement, especially during the summer months when these silver kings roll through our waters. We're talking about fish that can go 100+ pounds and will test every bit of your tackle and technique. Tarpon fishing requires patience and strong arms, but when you hook one of these giants and watch it clear the water, you'll understand why they call it the sport of kings. The Naples area sees consistent tarpon action from May through August, with fish showing up in both deep and shallow water.
Sheepshead might not be the prettiest fish in the Gulf, but they're crafty as they come and absolutely delicious. These convict-striped bait stealers hang around structure like pilings, bridges, and wrecks. They've got human-like teeth for crushing barnacles and crabs, which makes them notorious for picking baits clean without getting hooked. Landing a quality sheepshead takes finesse and quick reflexes, and they're some of the best eating you'll find in these waters.
King Mackerel are the speed demons of the offshore scene, and Naples waters produce some monsters. These toothy critters love trolled baits and will absolutely smoke a spread when they show up. Kings typically run 15-40 pounds around here, with the occasional smoker that'll top 50. They're phenomenal fighters and excellent on the table when handled properly. Fall and winter months tend to produce the biggest kings as they migrate through our area.
Blacktip Sharks bring non-stop action and aerial displays that rival any gamefish. These athletic sharks average 20-60 pounds and will jump repeatedly when hooked, putting on a show that gets everyone on the boat excited. They're year-round residents in Naples waters and are perfect for anglers who want consistent action and a good fight. Blacktips are also great for beginners since they're aggressive biters and fun to battle without being overly difficult to land.
