Nothing gets your heart pumping quite like hearing that drag screaming as a big shark takes off with your bait. Our 4-hour shark fishing adventure puts you right in the action, targeting some of the Gulf's most sought-after predators in the productive waters off Destin. Captain Greg and his experienced crew know exactly where to find Bull Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Tiger Sharks, and more in these emerald green waters. Whether you're a seasoned angler or picking up a rod for the first time, we'll make sure you're in for one heck of a fight when these apex predators show up.
What to Expect on the Water
This half-day trip packs serious action into a manageable timeframe that works for families and first-timers alike. We'll head out to proven shark grounds where the Gulf's structure and baitfish concentrations draw in these magnificent predators. The crew handles all the heavy lifting - from rigging the heavy tackle to handling the wire leaders and circle hooks that keep everyone safe. You'll fish with top-shelf gear designed specifically for shark fishing, including heavy conventional reels spooled with braided line that can handle whatever decides to eat your bait. Our 6-person capacity keeps things intimate, so everyone gets plenty of shots and personal attention from the crew. The afternoon timing works perfectly with shark feeding patterns, giving you the best chance at multiple hookups during your four hours on the water.
Shark Fishing Techniques
We fish with a combination of dead and live bait depending on conditions and what the sharks are feeding on. The crew sets out a spread of heavy rods with circle hooks and wire leaders, using everything from fresh bonito and mackerel to live hardtails when we can find them. We'll anchor up on structure or drift productive areas, reading the fish finder and adjusting our approach based on what we're marking. The key to successful shark fishing is patience and proper technique - these fish can take their time inspecting bait before committing. When a shark does take, you'll feel that initial run that separates these predators from everything else in the Gulf. We use fighting belts and proper technique to help you battle these fish without wearing yourself out, and our crew is right there coaching you through every step of the fight.
Customer Stories
"Our company booked a full day charter and what an amazing day it was! We had a group of 5, 4 men and me the only woman, and none of us had ever been deep sea fishing. Greg and Hunter were amazing at explaining everything before we started so we felt comfortable. We couldn't have asked for a better crew! Very patient, kind and an all-over great experience. Captain Greg knew all the sweet spots and had us on great fish all day. Hunter was amazing, he had every fishing rod baited and in the water all day and at the same time running around helping us getting lines untangled and fish coming in non stop! We are definitely going to book another trip with our family but will not do it unless we have Captain Greg and Hunter. What an amazing day, can mark that off the bucket list...and by the way Captain Greg and Hunter....our boat did win the biggest fish! (and the most fish and the nicest fish because Captain Greg knows where they are!) Thank you again!!!" - Amy
"We did a four hour charter with Captain Greg and his mate Sean and had a great time! They were both very attentive to our kids getting opportunities to reel in fish and spent a lot of time teaching them about the gear, the bay, the gulf, and the fish we trolled for. They were extremely punctual and were actually at the dock half an hour before our scheduled time, ready to get our stuff and go. Most importantly they both took a lot of time before leaving to review boat/fishing safety and were extremely safe while on the water! Captain Greg took us to many different areas to troll for a lot of different fish. Highly recommend!" - Victoria
"Captain Greg and his crew (Hunter) were phenomenal! They were patient and knowledgeable with our group of 6, ensuring that all of us had a great time and everyone was able to reel in a fish or two (or five). It was definitely a highlight of our time here in Destin, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to do some fishing!" - Amie
Species You'll Want to Hook
Bull Sharks are the backbone of our shark fishing here in Destin, and for good reason. These powerful predators can reach 8 feet and pack serious muscle that'll test your endurance. They're year-round residents in our waters, though they're most active during warmer months when baitfish concentrations are highest. Bulls are aggressive feeders that don't hesitate to take bait, making them perfect targets for anglers wanting that classic shark fight. What makes them special is their tenacity - they'll make multiple runs and use every trick in the book to throw your hook.
Blacktip Sharks bring speed and acrobatics to the party, often launching themselves completely out of the water when hooked. Running 4-6 feet on average, they're smaller than Bulls but make up for it with pure energy and spectacular jumps. These sharks are most abundant during their spring and fall migrations, when schools move through our area in impressive numbers. Blacktips feed heavily on small schooling fish, and when conditions are right, you might hook into several during a single trip.
Tiger Sharks represent the ultimate prize for serious shark anglers. These apex predators can grow massive - we're talking 10+ feet and several hundred pounds of pure power. They're less common than Bulls and Blacktips, but when one shows up, everyone on the boat knows it. Tigers have distinctive stripes and an attitude to match, making incredibly long runs that can take 30 minutes or more to land. Summer months offer the best Tiger Shark opportunities when these nomadic predators cruise through our offshore waters.
