Full Day Offshore Fishing Adventure in Biloxi
When you're ready to get serious about offshore fishing, Captain Jerry McClure's full-day charter gives you the real Gulf experience. Eight hours on the water means we're not rushing back to the dock when the bite gets hot. We'll run farther offshore where the big fish live, targeting everything from Blue Marlin to Grouper in some of the Gulf's most productive waters. This isn't your typical half-day trip – we're talking about a proper fishing adventure that lets you experience what the deep water has to offer.
What to Expect on the Water
Captain Jerry knows these Gulf waters like the back of his hand, and with decades of experience running charters out of Biloxi, he's got the local knowledge that makes the difference between a good day and a great one. We'll head out early and cover some serious ground, hitting structure, rigs, and open water depending on what's biting. The boat's rigged for serious offshore work, and we keep up to six anglers comfortable while working multiple lines. Don't worry about gear – we've got quality rods, reels, tackle, fresh bait, and all the licenses covered. Just bring yourself, some snacks, drinks, and sunscreen. The Gulf can be unforgiving, but it's also incredibly rewarding when you connect with something special.
Trolling Techniques & Setup
We run a spread of trolling lures and live bait depending on conditions and what we're targeting. Captain Jerry sets up the boat with outriggers and downriggers to cover different depths and keep lines separated. We'll pull everything from diving plugs to ballyhoo rigs, adjusting speed and depth based on water temperature, current, and fish activity. When we mark fish on the sonar or find feeding birds, we might switch to live bait or jigging. The key is staying flexible and reading the water. Jerry's constantly watching the electronics, adjusting the spread, and positioning the boat to give everyone the best shot at hooking up. It's not just about dragging baits around – there's real strategy involved in putting fish in the boat.

Species You'll Want to Hook
Blue Marlin are the holy grail of Gulf fishing, and Biloxi's deep water gives you a legitimate shot at one of these apex predators. These fish can push 500 pounds or more, and when one lights up a trolled ballyhoo, everything else stops mattering. Summer months from June through September offer the best chances, especially around the rigs and drop-offs 20+ miles offshore. The fight is absolutely electric – long runs, jumps, and pure power that'll test your stamina and the tackle. Even if you don't boat one, just having a Marlin come up on the baits gets your heart racing like nothing else.
Crevalle Jack might not be the prettiest fish in the Gulf, but pound-for-pound, they're some of the hardest fighting fish you'll encounter. These silver bulldogs show up in schools around structure and will absolutely punish light tackle. They hit hard, run fast, and don't give up easy. Spring and fall are prime time when they're feeding aggressively on baitfish. Don't let their rough appearance fool you – when a 20-pound Jack grabs your bait, you'll know you're connected to something serious. They're perfect for wearing out kids or anyone who wants to feel their drag screaming.
Cobia are one of the most sought-after species in the Gulf, and for good reason. These brown sharks (as some folks call them) are curious, aggressive, and absolutely delicious on the table. Spring migration from March through May brings schools of big Cobia through Biloxi waters, often following rays and sharks near the surface. They'll eat live bait, jigs, and even topwater lures when they're fired up. A 40-pound Cobia will give you a serious workout with their powerful runs and stubborn nature. Plus, they're fantastic eating – firm, white meat that's hard to beat.
Swordfish fishing is a specialized game that requires patience and the right conditions, but when it all comes together, it's pure magic. These gladiators of the deep live in 1,000+ feet of water and feed primarily at night or in deep water during the day. We'll deploy electric reels with heavy weights to get baits down to the zone where Swords cruise. The bite might be subtle, but when you hook a Broadbill, you're in for a battle that can last hours. Their sword and incredible power make them one of the most challenging fish to land, and definitely a bucket-list catch for serious anglers.
Gag Grouper are the bread and butter of Gulf bottom fishing, and they're as good on the plate as they are fun to catch. These reef dwellers love hard bottom, artificial reefs, and oil rigs where they ambush prey. Spring and fall offer the best action when Gags are feeding heavily before and after spawning season. They hit hard and immediately try to get back to their holes, so you need stout tackle and quick reflexes. A 20-pound Gag will test your drag and your arms, but the payoff is some of the finest eating fish in the Gulf. Their firm, white meat is perfect for grilling or frying.
