Scott MacDonald will guide you to the best honey holes and put you on amazing fish while surrounded by California’s beautiful wildlife. With over 2 decades of experience under his belt and an unmatched passion for helping others catch fish on a fly, a day on the water with Scott is an experience you will not want to miss. Your fishing destinations for the day will include the Upper and Lower Kings River. Scott also guides in Sequoia National Forest, 10 Mile Creek, Stoney Creek, Boulder Creek, Monarch Wilderness and Hume Lake.
Scott welcomes the chance to bring new anglers into the sport! He hopes to share his love of fishing with you and maybe you'll catch the fishing bug too! He'll bring all the gear you need if you don't have it and guarantees a positive learning experience and lots of laughs! As a graduate of the Clearwater Guide School Scott readily shares his knowledge of the sport of fly fishing and the various trout that you'll target ensuring you will learn a thing or two all while having a great time.
Also, make sure you purchase a California Freshwater Fishing License before your trip. You can do so online or by visiting a sporting good stores and even at Hume Lake Christian Camps general store. Feel free to pack some snacks and drinks, as well as any other personal items you may need.

Two and a half weeks travelling around the USA and we unanimously agree our day with Scott was the highlight, among a lot of highlights. A very knowledgeable, communicative and, importantly for us total beginners, patient guide - can't fault Scott in any way, the perfect man to show us the ropes. Plenty of fish caught by us both and confidence built throughout the day too, the sign of a good teacher. Cannot thank Scott enough!

Well my son and I had the best time with Scott. I highly recommend his services. Scott really took the time to helps us improve on our fly fishing skills. There is always something to learn. Scott was very encouraging and made the day on the water very memorable. He absolutely knows where the fish are. Thanks for a great day and we will see you soon.

Scott was such a fantastic guide. He made an already special experience SO enjoyable. I couldn't get over how patient he was--he took our family of 3 and managed our inexperience, tangles and hooked lines and with an incredible, optimistic, cheerful attitude. He even spent time showing our son, after a very long day, how to tie a fly. We'll never forget that day and Scott!

Scott s a an amazing guide. He truly cares about wildlife and bringing an unforgettable experience. My son and I had never fly fished before and he had us taking so many fish out of the creek by the end of the day it was amazing. Highly recommend!!

My wife booked a trip for me and four other family members as a birthday present. All of us were at varying skill levels. Scott had some great tips for those who already fly fish and was very patient and helpful with those of us who are novices. He was familiar with the best spots, the locations were beautiful and we all had a blast. I am looking forward to going fly fishing with Scott again.
