Private Island Special With Fishing | 8 HR Trip
Picture this: an entire day on the water where you get the best of both worlds – serious fishing action and pure relaxation on your own private sandbar. This isn't your typical charter where you're stuck in one spot all day. We're talking about an 8-hour adventure that combines wildlife viewing, nearshore fishing, and sandbar lounging into one epic day. Starting at 10 AM, you and up to 5 buddies will experience everything our local waters have to offer, from playful dolphins to hard-fighting fish. At $900 for up to 4 guests (additional guests just $39 each), you're getting a premium experience that most folks pay way more for elsewhere.
What to Expect on the Water
Your day kicks off with something special – a wildlife tour to spot dolphins and manatees before we even wet a line. These encounters set the tone for what's going to be an amazing day. Once we've had our fill of marine life watching, we'll cruise out to the nearshore waters where the real fishing begins. The beauty of this trip is the flexibility – you're not locked into one fishing spot or style. We'll work different areas throughout the day, always keeping an eye out for bird activity and bait schools that signal feeding fish below. Around midday, we'll set you up on a popular sandbar complete with chairs, umbrellas, and snacks. Here's where it gets interesting – you can fish right from the sandbar or stay on the boat. Some of the best action happens when fish cruise the edges of these shallow flats looking for an easy meal.
Gear Setup & Techniques
We've got you completely covered when it comes to tackle and technique. All fishing licenses, rods, reels, tackle, and fresh bait are included – you literally just show up ready to fish. For the nearshore action, we'll have medium to heavy spinning setups rigged with circle hooks and live bait. When we're working around the sandbar, we'll switch to lighter tackle that's perfect for sight fishing in shallow water. The technique varies depending on what we're targeting – live shrimp under popping corks for redfish, cut bait on the bottom for sharks, or live pilchards for snook around structure. Our guides know exactly which presentations work best in each spot, and they'll coach you through every step. Whether you're a seasoned angler or picking up a rod for the first time, we'll match the technique to your skill level.
Top Catches This Season
Snook are the crown jewel of our local waters, and for good reason. These ambush predators love hanging around docks, mangroves, and shallow flats where they can surprise their prey. What makes snook so exciting is their explosive strike and acrobatic fight – they'll jump, run, and do everything possible to throw your hook. Best fishing for snook happens during the warmer months, particularly around dawn and dusk when they're most active. The slot limit keeps things interesting too – you need a fish between 28 and 32 inches to take home, which means plenty of catch and release action with both smaller schoolies and larger breeders.
Redfish are another customer favorite, and it's easy to see why. These copper-colored bruisers are year-round residents that love shallow water and put up a serious fight. What sets redfish apart is their incredible stamina – they won't jump like a snook, but they'll pull drag consistently and make long, powerful runs. During cooler months, we find them schooled up in deeper holes, while summer brings sight-fishing opportunities on the flats. The 18 to 27-inch slot limit means most of the fish you'll catch are perfect eating size, and their mild, flaky meat makes them a table favorite.
Greater Amberjack bring the offshore experience to our nearshore trips. These hard-fighting fish are found around structure and will test both your tackle and your arms. Amberjack are known for their initial powerful run straight toward the bottom, and then the long, grinding fight back to the surface. Spring through early summer offers the best action, when these fish move into shallower water to spawn. At 30+ pounds on average, landing an amberjack is always a memorable experience and great for photos.
Bonnethead Sharks might be the most underrated species we target. These smaller members of the hammerhead family are incredibly abundant and provide non-stop action, especially for kids and beginners. What makes bonnetheads special is their unique diet – they're one of the few sharks that actually eat seagrass along with crabs and small fish. They're also perfectly safe to handle and release, making them ideal for getting that perfect shark photo. Peak season runs from spring through fall when water temperatures are warmest.
Bull Sharks represent the apex predator experience. These powerful, stocky sharks are found in both saltwater and brackish areas, making them a common catch around our local waters. What makes bull sharks so respected is their incredible strength and tenacity – they're built like underwater bulldozers and fight accordingly. While we practice strict catch and release with bulls, the experience of battling one of these magnificent predators is something you'll talk about for years. They're most active during warmer months and can show up anywhere from deep channels to surprisingly shallow flats.
