Tiger Creek is located in Polk County, Florida. It is a part of the Tiger Creek Preserve, which is home to several endemic, threatened, and endangered species of plants and animals. The preserve is a landscape that sits between Tiger Creek and Patrick Creek. 

The creek is surrounded by several bodies of water Crooked Lake, Lake Leonore, and Lake Weohyakapka. It is more than 11 miles long and it flows from Lake Weohyakapka heading towards Tiger Creek Trail. 

Tiger Creek’s name came from the fact that it was once frequented by Florida panthers, which was witnessed during the early settlements. Florida panthers usually have blue eyes and its population is concentrated in South Florida.
