We'll start the day by running out to the best scallop beds Crystal River has to offer. These shallow grass flats are where the magic happens – crystal-clear water that lets you spot scallops from the surface, and depths that are perfect for beginners and kids alike. Most of our scalloping happens in 3-6 feet of water, so you don't need to be an Olympic swimmer to fill your bag. The water temperature stays comfortable through scallop season, usually sitting in the mid-70s to low-80s, making it perfect for spending hours in the water. You'll be amazed at how quickly you develop an eye for spotting those telltale shells nestled in the grass beds.
