12 HR Offshore Fishing Adventure
Picture this: you're heading out before dawn, cutting through calm waters as the sun starts painting the horizon. This isn't your typical half-day fishing trip – we're talking about a serious 12-hour offshore adventure that puts you right in the heart of big game fishing territory. With MobSquad Fishing, you'll be targeting some of the ocean's most prized fighters in deep blue waters where the real monsters live. This top-rated charter accommodates up to 4 anglers, so you're getting personalized attention and plenty of room to battle fish without bumping elbows. Fair warning though – bring your own snacks and drinks because we're focused on putting you on fish, not serving lunch.
What to Expect on the Water
When I say we're going offshore, I mean we're leaving the shallow stuff far behind and heading to where the water turns that deep cobalt blue. We're talking about a full day of serious fishing – 12 hours gives us time to hit multiple spots and really dial in on what's biting. The beauty of a long trip like this is we can adjust our game plan based on what we're seeing out there. Maybe the Mahi are going crazy on floating debris in the morning, or perhaps we need to spend extra time working a temperature break where the Tuna are stacked up. You'll experience everything from high-speed trolling to precision bottom fishing, and trust me, your arms will know you've been working by the end of the day. The offshore environment is a whole different world – you might see dolphins racing our wake, flying fish skipping across the surface, or even whales in the distance. It's raw ocean fishing at its finest.
Trolling Tactics & Gear Setup
We run a serious spread when we're targeting pelagics like Marlin and Tuna. Picture six or seven lines out at different depths and distances – we've got outriggers pulling ballyhoo and lures, flat lines running closer to the boat, and maybe a deep line with a swimming plug. The key is covering the water column and giving these fish different presentations. When we're after Mahi, we're looking for floating structure – logs, weed lines, or any debris that's holding baitfish. For the deep-dwelling Tilefish, we switch gears completely and drop heavy bottom rigs down 300-500 feet, feeling for that perfect muddy bottom where they like to hang out. All our tackle is tournament-grade stuff – Penn and Shimano reels, custom rods that can handle the pressure, and quality terminal tackle that won't let you down when you hook into a fish of a lifetime. We've got everything from 30-pound class gear for Mahi up to 80-pound tackle for big Marlin.
Top Catches This Season
The Blue Marlin is the undisputed king out here, and when one crashes your spread, everything changes. These fish average 200-400 pounds but can push well over 500, and they'll put on an aerial display that'll have your heart pounding. Peak season runs through late spring and early fall when the water temperatures are just right. What makes them special? Pure power and attitude – a big Blue will greyhound across the surface, then sound deep and test every ounce of your strength and endurance. The Mahi Mahi are year-round favorites and arguably the most fun fish in the ocean. Bulls can hit 40-50 pounds and they fight like they're twice that size, plus their colors are absolutely stunning when they're lit up. They school up around any floating structure, and once you find them, you can often catch multiple fish. Bigeye Tuna are the night shift workers – these deep-water bruisers come up to feed after dark and can exceed 200 pounds. They're incredibly strong and make blistering runs that'll smoke your reel. Yellowfin Tuna are speed demons that travel in schools and hit trolled baits with authority. They're perfect eating and fight harder than fish twice their size. White Marlin are the acrobats of the bunch – smaller than their Blue cousins but they make up for it with incredible jumping ability and aggressive takes. Tilefish might not be glamorous, but they're fantastic eating and provide steady action when the pelagics aren't cooperating. They live in deep water and fight surprisingly hard for a bottom fish.
