Extended Half-Day Naples Inshore Fishing Charter
If you're looking to maximize your time on the water around Naples, this 6-hour extended half-day charter is exactly what you need. We're talking serious fishing time in some of Southwest Florida's most productive backwaters, where the 10,000 Islands meet Naples Bay and create a perfect storm of fishing opportunities. This isn't your typical tourist trip - we're going after the real deal with Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Sheepshead in waters that produce year-round.
What to Expect on the Water
Starting from either Goodland Boat Park or Bayview Park depending on conditions, we'll spend six solid hours working the backCountry waters that make Naples famous among serious anglers. The extra time means we're not rushing between spots - we can really dial in on productive areas and adjust our game plan based on what the fish are telling us. You'll fish everything from shadowy mangrove shorelines where Snook ambush baitfish to expansive grass flats where Redfish cruise in packs. The 10,000 Islands backcountry opens up endless possibilities, with winding creeks, oyster bar drop-offs, and island channels that hold different species depending on the tide and season. With a maximum of four anglers, everyone gets plenty of rod time and personalized instruction without feeling crowded.
Techniques & Prime Locations
We'll be working multiple techniques throughout the day to match what the fish want. Live bait fishing with pinfish, pilchards, and shrimp is deadly effective, especially when we're sight-fishing for Redfish on the flats or working Snook around structure. Artificial lures come into play when we want to cover water fast - soft plastics, topwater plugs, and spoons all have their moments. The beauty of the extended trip is we can hit the mangrove edges during moving water, then shift to the grass flats when the tide slows, and finish strong around oyster bars or island points. Each spot requires different approaches, from precise casts into pockets to long drifts over expansive flats. All tackle, bait, and gear is provided, but feel free to bring your favorite rods if you want that personal touch.
Top Catches This Season
Snook are the crown jewel of Southwest Florida inshore fishing, and Naples waters hold some beauties. These ambush predators love structure - you'll find them tucked under mangrove overhangs, around dock pilings, and along oyster bar edges. Spring through fall offers the best action, with fish actively feeding during moving tides. What makes Snook special is their fight - they'll jump, run for cover, and use every trick in the book. Plus, they're gorgeous fish with that distinctive black lateral line and aggressive strike that'll get your heart pumping.
Tarpon fishing around Naples is legendary, especially during the spring and summer months when schools move through our waters. These silver kings can range from juvenile fish in the backcountry creeks to full-grown giants cruising the passes. Even a 30-pound Tarpon will give you a workout with multiple jumps and bulldogging runs. The smaller fish in the 15-40 pound range are perfect for the backwater spots we'll be fishing, offering world-class sport on lighter tackle.
Redfish are probably the most reliable year-round target in these waters. These copper-colored bruisers patrol the grass flats and oyster bars in small schools, making for some of the best sight-fishing opportunities you'll find anywhere. Fall months are particularly hot, but you can catch quality Reds any time of year. They're powerful fish that use the shallow water to their advantage, making long runs across the flats when hooked.
Speckled Trout, or Spotted Seatrout as they're properly known, are scattered throughout the grass flats and provide consistent action when other species are finicky. They're excellent on light tackle, with a soft mouth that requires a gentle touch. Winter months can be particularly good for bigger Trout, and they're one of the better eating fish we target.
Sheepshead are the technical challenge of inshore fishing - these black and white striped fish have serious dental work and aren't shy about using it. Found around any hard structure like oyster bars, docks, and bridge pilings, they require finesse and quick hook sets. When you dial in the technique, though, Sheepshead provide steady action and excellent table fare.
