ScubaTech Destin has been a cornerstone of the Destin scuba diving community since its founding in April 1986 by Capt. Nancy Birchett. As a woman-owned and operated full-service dive shop, ScubaTech has built a reputation for excellence, safety, and a deep passion for the underwater world. Destin, Florida, is a premier dive destination, known for its stunning natural limestone reefs and an impressive collection of artificial reefs and wrecks. ScubaTech provides access to some of the best dive sites in the region, allowing divers to explore the Miss Louise wreck, the breathtaking Destin jetties, and more.
As a leading dive shop in Destin, we specialize in scuba diving lessons and PADI certification courses for divers of all skill levels. Our beginner scuba diving programs introduce newcomers to the basics of diving in a safe and controlled environment, while our advanced scuba courses help seasoned divers expand their skills and confidence. I had the absolute pleasure of diving with Ashley Vick from Scubatech in Destin, Florida, and I can confidently say she is an outstanding master diver and leader. We did two dives to two incredible shipwrecks in the Gulf of Mexico, and Ashley’s expertise, calm presence, and enthusiasm made the experience unforgettable. From the start, Ashley was professional, approachable, and extremely knowledgeable. She gave clear, confident briefings and made sure every diver felt comfortable and prepared. Her leadership underwater was just as impressive—always attentive, aware of the group, and ensuring safety while still letting us fully enjoy the exploration of the sunken ships. The dives themselves were phenomenal, but it was Ashley who truly elevated the experience. She shared great insights about the wrecks, pointed out marine life we might’ve missed, and kept the energy high throughout the day. If you’re planning to dive in the Destin area, I can’t recommend Ashley Vick enough. Her passion for diving, combined with her professionalism and leadership, make her a top-tier dive master and an incredible asset to the Scubatech team.

My husband and I came to Destin for the first time. He reviewed area dive shops and decided Scuba Tech would be the best experience. We were NOT disappointed! We dove three different days and had a great time on every dive. We have only been diving for a year and half and appreciated tips and pointers from all the staff. They were super friendly and very encouraging to us as new divers.

Absolutely the best. Best shop, best crew, best captains & best first mate. We were greeted with smiles everyday which made the diving all the better. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back to dive with Scuba Tech.

I had an absolutely phenomenal experience with ScubaTech in Destin, Florida! From start to finish, the team was professional, organized, and welcoming — but the real standout was Master Diver Savanah Christy. Savanah was not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also an outstanding instructor. Her calm, confident demeanor immediately put me at ease, and her passion for diving was contagious. Whether it was reviewing safety protocols, adjusting gear, or exploring underwater, she made sure every moment was both educational and enjoyable. She took the time to answer questions, provide thoughtful feedback, and tailor the experience to match everyone’s skill level. It’s clear she genuinely cares about her students and the dive community. If you’re considering diving in the Destin area — whether you’re a beginner or experienced — I highly recommend ScubaTech, and if you’re lucky enough to dive with Savanah Christy, you’re in for an unforgettable experience.
