Blythewood Fishing: Gateway to Excellent Freshwater Fishing in the Midlands District

Blythewood is your ideal access point if your South Carolina fishing itinerary includes hot spots throughout the Midlands district. Lake Murray, for instance, is easily accessible from Blythewood. This world-class fishing lake is home to more than 12 different fish species, including largemouth bass, striped bass, white bass, bluegill, white perch, channel catfish, white bullhead, redear sunfish, or shellcracker, and black crappie. It has lots of access points all over the region. Dreher Island State Park is mainly known for its stocked striped and largemouth bass. The rest of the district has 11 public boat ramps.
