Pope County, Arkansas, is home to Atkins Lake. It's located around a railroad but has evolved into a significant interstate hub. Lake Atkins, a renowned fishing spot in Arkansas, is nearby. It has a surface size of 750 acres and an average of 10 feet. Boating, kayaking, and fishing are all available.

This body of water is home to plenty of fish species, including common carp, redear sunfish, channel catfish, crappie, redfin pickerel, blue catfish, black bullhead, flathead catfish, sauger, and largemouth bass. Other species like bowfin, grass carp, green sunfish, redbreast sunfish, and warmouth can be found in this lake.

If you want to see more wildlife, you can go to Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge, located just south of Russellville. An essential part of Holla Bend's mission is to protect animal populations by preserving habitats for endangered or vulnerable species and providing wintering waterfowl habitats. Hunting, fishing, photography, hiking, and environmental education are just a few activities for visitors to the refuge.

Near Russellville, you'll find the Dardanelle Lock & Dam, a great place to try your luck at fishing. The Dam is home to various fish, including largemouth bass, bluegill, carp, catfish, crappie, and sunfish. There are other bait stores like Lefty Gun and Pawn or Reid Sportsmans One Stop, and Russellville Marina Boat Repair & Cabins to rent or buy your fishing needs.
