Campti is a flat, mostly agricultural area in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, United States. The Campti area is part of the Natchitoches Micropolitan Statistical Area in Louisiana. Campti's name came from a Natchitoches Indian chief, known as "Le Roi Campti" or The King Campti.

Campti Fishing: Fishing in The Red River’s Eastern Banks

small fishing boat

Campti sits on the eastern banks of the great Red River, Louisiana's second-biggest river. The river has earned nationwide attention as an abundant fishery and is an excellent spot for bass fishing. The entire Red River system is divided into five pools separated by five lock and dam systems. Anglers can target largemouth bass in the river, but the river does have various fish species like channel catfish, white bass, spotted bass, crappie, redear sunfish, and bream. Bass fishing in the Red is best done during summer. The river is accessible via the Sims Bayou from Campti. Anglers can also launch their boats at Grand Ecore RV Park. The RV park near Natchitoches has a boat launch and a floating pier for kayak fishing, drift fishing, and trolling.

Anglers can visit and fish in the Sims Bayou near the Nativity Cemetery in Campti. Anglers can catch fish like redear sunfish, freshwater drum, bluegill, and blue catfish in the bayou. They can also spend time taking the hiking trail available in the area. Meanwhile, anglers aiming to catch bluegill should spend time in Blue Lake. Anglers who want to hook various fish species like bowfin, bass, and crappie must visit some of the best fishing spots in Campti like Campti Brake, Round Lake, Bayou Decorppe, Bayou Couchinaha, Bayou Pratte, Campti Bayou, and Bayou Pierre.

Campti is also near some of the top fishing spots in Louisiana, such as Black Lake, Black Lake Bayou, Clear Lake, Saline Bayou, and Saline Lake. These lakes are famous for black crappie and white crappie fishing.
