In the western area of New York, one can find the stunning county of Wyoming. It is an agricultural area that houses around 47,000 dairy cows. They have more cattle than they have residents!

It started like any other county in New York- a part of a disputed territory during the 17th and 18th centuries. Different colonies then claimed it. Today, Wyoming is a county that stands on its own. It is known for its historical sites and structures. Many people also flock to the county because of the different recreational activities—angling, surfing, swimming, and strolling around parks, to name a few.

Today, Wyoming is known for the magnificent Grand Canyon of the East. So, if you are looking for a place to bond with your family and friends, this might be the one for you. Likewise, if you are looking for someplace to be alone, its majestic nature could also help you think and relax.

Wyoming Fishing: Fly Fishing for Everyone, Any Time of the Year

New York fishing is something you would not want to miss, especially when you are in the county of Wyoming. The Genesee River and its tributaries are great for a fly fishing experience in the county. Fly fishing could be done any time of the year and yield a productive catch.

Fly fishing in winters is one of the best times to go wade fishing on the North Platte. During this season, the waters are low and clear, making it easy to spot fish piled up in the tail-outs. One of the locations you could go angling to during this season is the Big Lake. Rainbow trout that flock into the area are less active, making them an easier target.

Spring fly fishing is the best season for angling in Wyoming when you want a productive catch. During this time of the year, the area between Grey Reef and Lusby holds around 8,000 mature fish species 20” long or more. Meanwhile, fly fishing in Summer is consistent. During June, mature fish begin to move off the spawning beds and disperse. However, angling becomes a challenge as the waters become a little weedy, making it harder to spot some fish.

Around the county, you can yield a good catch of black crappie, bluegill, common carp, golden shiner, green sunfish, lake trout, smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed, rock bass, walleye.

If you want to visit a particular area in Wyoming, here are some places that you can see. First is The Big/Little Laramie Rivers, where there is a striking brown trout action. Next is the Wind River Range, which is filled with different species. This place is perfect for anglers looking for peace and calmness.
