Biscayne Canal is one of the several canals in Miami-Dade County, Florida dedicated to flood prevention and water storage. It is 16 miles long and three feet deep and can be found nearby other bodies of water such as Miami Beach, Virginia Key, and Biscayne Bay.

The mangrove snapper can be found around seawalls and docks. If you want to catch this fish, it is best to use a #1 J hook or 1/0 circle hook. For the bait, you may use live ones, such as cigars, pilchards, minnows, grunts, and pinfish. You may also utilize lures, like scented shrimp imitations and jerk baits.

On the other hand, if you are looking for some game fish like the crevalle jack, baitcasting is also one of the most effective fishing methods. This fish loves live baits such as mullet, herring, and sardines. You may also use artificial lures, like topwater plugs, bucktail jigs, and plugs.
