New Bayou is a small estuary located approximately 9 miles from Jamaica Beach and south of Houston in Brazoria County, Texas. The county got its name from the Brazos River, which flows through its entirety. Surrounding water bodies include Chocolate Bayou, Amarada Cut, Halls Bayou, Lost Bay, Oyster Lake, and the West Bay. 

New Bayou is one of the streams in the county wherein recreational activities do not limit to only water-oriented activities. Brazoria County is famous for its pristine bays and bayous, inviting people for fishing, kayaking, swimming, canoeing, and paddle boarding experience.
