Bossier City is part of the Bossier Parish and is found in northwestern Louisiana, United States. Bossier lies on the eastern bank of the Red River. The economy and social status of Bossier are somewhat connected to Shreveport, which sits on the opposite bank of the river. The area of Bossier was purchased by James Cane and his wife, Mary Doal Cilley Bennett Cane. It was initially called the Elysian Grove plantation. The settlement area in Bossier was named Cane City. It was later renamed Bossier City after former Louisiana Governor Newton C. Blanchard incorporated the city.
Bossier City boasts the beauty and fishing opportunities given by the Red River. The river has various recreational activities for visitors. It is known to be the second perfect location for bass fishing. Hunting is also allowed in designated areas on some parts of the shelter. The sanctuary has a nature-inspired playground with a tree house, a faux fishing boat, balance beams, hollow logs, and many more activities that everyone will enjoy.
