This was the first charter trip for my son and me, and it couldn’t have gone better. Justin made everything easy from the start—clear instructions on where to meet, a smooth boarding process, and we were off to the first spot. Within minutes, I was reeling in my first fish of the day! As someone new to fishing, I really appreciated Justin’s help with casting while my son—the real fisherman in the family—was already in his element. I caught bass back-to-back, followed by my very first pickerel and gar—species I had never even heard of before. Such a cool and exciting moment! We took tons of photos and videos, and Justin kept cold bottled water on hand for us. The second spot had calmer water and a whole new mix of wildlife. Justin shared all kinds of info about the local birds, and we learned so much throughout the day. Using live bait was new to me too, since my son usually sticks with frogs and lures. The highlight? My son landed his personal best—a bass around 5 pounds and 21 inches. He was beyond proud. Time flew, and we honestly didn’t want the day to end. After wrapping up, we chatted a bit at the dock before heading back to the hotel. Whether you're new or experienced, Justin is the guide you want. We had a blast and can’t wait to book again. Justin is an outstanding guide—easy to talk to and incredibly knowledgeable about bass fishing. He was attentive throughout the trip, baiting our lines, setting up our reels just how we liked, and even keeping an eye out for bites. My son landed several fish thanks to Justin putting us on a solid spot and coaching him on when to set the hook. I caught my personal best 5-pound bass because Justin noticed I missed the first strike and told me to open the bail and let the fish take another look—sure enough, it hit again just like he said. Justin was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. He took my 7 year old son and I out on a 2 hr trip which turned out to be the best trip we’ve ever have ever been on.
