What a day! We met Captain Bob at the docks at Rye Harbor for an early departure to fish for Bluefin Tuna. We chartered him years ago for a striped bass trip and the kids still talk about it. Since then, he has a gorgeous new boat with brand new engines- we made it about 25 or so miles offshore in no time. We moved a time or two for bait and then cast our lines for tuna. After about 50 minutes of pleasant conversation about the area, the sea, the fish and whales around - a tuna took our line. “Holy smokes”, it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Captain Bob set me up in the harness and I was fighting a Very powerful fish. It was truly incredible. Bob was great with tips to keep the fish on the line and wear him out. He really knows his stuff. After about 45 minutes, the fish was at the boat and Bob got him on board. The fish was beautiful. He weighed about 300 lbs.- about 100lbs more than me. Lots of photos, smiles and again memories to last a lifetime. I can’t recommend fishing with Captain Bob enough- he’s absolutely the best- boat, gear and captain.

Had a wonderful day with Captain Bob - we booked a 1/2 day striper trip with my sons and grandkids. They caught their first stripers and are still talking about how nice Captain Bob was. He truly went out of his way to make sure everyone had a great experience. We will be back for more. Thanks for a great day!

Excellent charter. Capt Bob goes above and beyond to try to put you on fish. We didn't get the tuna due to an unfortunate storm that rolled in, but we still hooked into some stripers on way to the home marina. I highly recommend Capt Bob for a friendly, professional and knowledgeable charter!

It was a picture perfect day to be on the ocean. We left Rye Harbor with Capt. Bob Weatherbee on his 34 foot Yellow Fin center console powered by twin Mercury 400 HP outboard engines. He does not like to waste any time getting out to the fishing spots. We stopped at the Shoals, jigged for mackerel for bait and then shot out to Jeffery’s Ledge which is 27 miles offshore. There was a westerly wind and it kicked up a 2 to 3 foot chop which is typical for the Gulf of Maine. The Capt. Pushed the boat along at about 30 knots and everyone help on tight. There were three other men on board whom I had not met before except for Kevin Brandon who has been a GSC customer since 2012. We all love to fish so the camaraderie was instantaneous and fish stories abounded. We arrived at the Pigeon Hole around 10AM and set up three heavy duty rods with live mackerel for bait. Each mackerel had a hook pushed through the skin of its back and the shank was secured with a piece of monofilament to keep the tuna from stealing the bait. We fished all day without hooking into a tuna. We did hook up with six large sharks that cost us six expensive hooks and several yards of fluorocarbon leader. You can tell when a shark is hooked because the pole bends way over and the drag screams on the reel. It is music to the ears of all fisherman. I heard that some guy had that noise replicated for the ring tone on his cell phone. That is cool. We never saw any of the sharks because their teeth are very sharp and able to easily cut through 300 pond test fishing line. Just as well, not a friendly creature. I hope to be able to schedule another trip in October, when my daughter is home from Colorado. The tuna bite should still be on as they begin their migration down the coast to warmer waters. Oh yea, on the way into the harbor Bob spotted another fishing boat heading in to the dock while we were still almost two miles out. He wanted to get in first so he put the hammer down and off we went at 50 MPH. Actually, I think he just has a need for speed but we easily were tied up before Uncle Oscar made it in. A day wasted on he water is never wasted.

The best bass fishing around, this capt knows his stuff. Had a blast fishing with him, from catching out own bait to landing a dozen bass all in a action packed 5hr trip. I will definitely be returning

We've chartered with Captain Bob for two years in a row now and have had nothing but great experiences. Captain Bob is very professional and knows where to go and wastes no time getting to where the fish are. As he told us, there's a difference between catching and fishing, and when you sail with Captain Bob you'll be catching! - The Duvall family

I have chartered Capt. Bob and his family operation twice for freedive spearfishing. We are planning more trips already to fish cod and tuna. Capt. Bob is not only extremely knowledgeable and an expert fisherman with commercial experience, he is fun and friendly! Bob runs a safe and professional operation, especially while accommodating divers, safety is his priority. We appreciated that the philosophy of the boat is conservation minded, but this skipper WILL GET YOU ON THE MEAT. This guy is plugged in - full of local knowledge - and a lot of fun.

Capt Bob could not have been any more accommodating, hospitable, and hard-working! We had a beautiful day, seeing porpoises, whales, seals, and fish (of course). He went to multiple spots and cared a great deal about whether we caught something and were enjoying ourselves. I will definitely be back next year. He’s a wonderful man and a seasoned fisherman.
