It is a stream with an elevation of 1,320 feet (402 meters) above sea level. Sugar Run flows into a larger stream called Todd Fork. Several water bodies near Sugar run are Kunkers Run, Todd Fork, Agins Run, Burton Lake and Lick Run. Along the course of Sugar Run is an abundance of sugar maple timbers from which its name was said to have been derived.
