Fantastic freshwater angling opportunities are offered in Concord through its many lakes. Up north, you’ll find Lake Concord. You can find largemouth bass, spotted bass, white bass, white crappie, black crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, flathead catfish, brown bullhead, yellow perch, and white perch in its waters. You can fish from the banks in areas where there is public access. There is also a dock that can be accessed from Captains Watch Road.

You'll come upon Lake Fisher to the northeast of Lake Concord. It is one of the most popular spots for anglers in the city. Because of watershed rules, you cannot fish from the banks and use private boats or kayaks. But there are boat rentals available. The lake is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and is open for fishing from March to October. In its waters, you can fish for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, spotted bass, bluegill, white crappie, black crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish, and pumpkinseed sunfish.

If you want guaranteed catches, stop by Frank Liske Park, where you can fish for stocked catfish and trout from Jackson Training School Lake. The pond offers year-round fishing because it’s stocked monthly. A small fee is needed before you can fish from the 9-acre pond. You can reel in rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, largemouth bass, channel catfish, blue catfish, bluefish, and black crappie.
