Fishing Charters in Haleiwa

Before going on our family vacation to Haleiwa, I started researching fishing charters, mostly for ones that would let you keep part of your catch. It’s tough to come by because the costs for these guys is pretty high. I came across the Pamela Pearl, and after looking at photos and talking to Captain Chris Freed, I decided to go with them. Between him and Jay, we were very well informed as to what to expect in terms of fishing and seas. Going out to the spot, we stopped and loaded up on bait fish, and began trolling from there out. My brother in law lost a marlin and I landed a mahi pretty early. Once we got to the spot, it was very apparent these guys know what’s up. They had us on fish pretty quickly, some decent sized yellow-fin. Then we saw the marlin, 30’ from the boat and following the big bait. They played that marlin great, and got him to take, and the fight was on. Jay and Captain Freed were great. Captain Freed piloted the boat to make landing this fish possible and Jay was a huge asset in coaching. Afterward we had a big yellow-fin on but the hook pulled. These guys know how to get you on the fish. Will 100% book again next time we come to Hawaii.

If you want to catch fish, you better call captain Chris at the Pearl Fishing Charter Oahu! Chris and his first mate are some of the coolest people you will meet on the island. I just booked my second trip with him minutes ago and realized that I did not leave a review about our first trip early Feb 2020. The experience captain Chris has is impeccable and unmatched on the island and I highly recommend you reach out to him if you are planing a fishing trip on Oahu. Boat is super comfortable, crew is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. What more could you ask for on a fishing trip? Oh! And we got to go home with some of the best fish I have ever ate in my life: Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Trevally!

Had a great day on the water with Captain Mac and Ian! Although the fishing was rough and we only bagged 1 Ono and a Barracuda, these guys worked all they could and were the politest and fantastic folks to be out with for an 8 hour trip. Highly recommend this boat and that’s why they call it fishing!!

Capt Freed will do everything he can to provide you with a epic fishing trip. His communication before the fishing trip was excellent. While on the boat he answered every question I threw at him. His boat is very stable and he takes great care of it. It has multiple sleeping locations and the galley keeps you out of the sun. He went above and beyond to provide me with a fishing trip of a lifetime. I caught a Marlin! It was amazing. I will be a repeat customer. Thanks Capt Freed, see you soon! Amazing!

We had a great experience with Captain Chris. Our day started out with Chris very simply staying basic rules and safety procedures. We were out on the water within 10 minutes of our arrival. Fishing was tough for all boats out at the same time as us, but Chris was able to help us catch a couple of fish when others went home with nothing. Adam is Chris's assistant and he was great at assisting with whatever we needed. We also ended up with a couple of sick kids and Chris was right there helping attend to their needs . He also cut and prepped our fish to take home on the long plane ride. Thanks for making our day a great one, Chris and Adam!

Awesome day on the water! Capt. Jared put us on the Skip Jacks and it turned out they were interested in eating today; apparently they hadn't been the previous week, but the fishing gods blessed us ×7 (plus two landing failures on our part.) Highly recommend!!! We'll be back next we get to Oahu!!

We had a wonderful trip! He fit us in last minute and we are so happy we went! Caught multiple fish! He was so helpful and made it so easy but so fun! We got to see dolphins, whales and sharks! We were so impressed and would highly recommend!!

We had an amazing day out with Jared. We caught a variety of types of fish. This week we ate two kinds of sashimi, fish tacos, and third amazing dinner of a whole uku steamed on the grill in banana leaves. Jared gave us great tips on preparing the fish also. We saw too many whales to count and had a great day on the water complete with Hawaiian rainbows. Jared’s love of fishing and enthusiasm for it as well as patience for beginners like me made the day even more fun. I highly recommend fishing with Jared and Flyer Sportfishing if you’re on Oahu.
